Mental illness is not a joke. Unless you have a better one than that. Comedy has no boundaries.

Gudbranson got to play for an old sh1tty slow team. Miller is much better off.

I guess we better hope to make the playoffs. Anyone know a good Wizard?
- thundachunk

There’s no chance they make the playoffs next year so the pick will be a 2021, the next GM will have to figure out how to acquire one.

If Benning lands Panarin, Myers, Gardiner and Ferland this is certainly a playoff team.

So what a trade eh lol

I to like JT Miller & suggested getting him.
Definitely not liking the cost. Does JB hope he can be a 60 pointer & stabilizing force?

The protected 2020 1st i can live with for the moment. The contract is a good one. I can easily see 20 goals from him. F logjam got worse so expecting another trade of significance has to happen. Chance of an OS from us just disappeared but ok with that. JB will still sign another D or weaponize the cap or it’s his death knell. This trade & taking the Pod shows he & TG are on the same page & want to be hard to play against & that will happen. We were a tougher team to play against last year albeit under gunned. It will help us in the UFA market but remains to be seen how that plays out.

To offset the 1st pick a lot of things still have to get done & go right this offseason. JB is at the crossroads of his GM career & future employment having the balls to take this risk. How he remakes the D will decide if he lasts til Xmas. 1 more big splash to add a top 4 D must be his next move. Miller for a bargain? Gardiner for a good price? Somebody else? He’s now hanging by a thread & that shows a lot of gumption or simply suicidal 😂😂

Summary:

Heh Rocky wanna see me pull a rabbit outta the hat? Panarin or bust is maybe his only saving grace.

Predicting we will more than surprise ppl & be better than the pundits project us. No PO’s is not an option.

Some comments from a Province article...

But critics said it was short-sighted for the Canucks to give away a future first-round pick to the Lightning, who were experiencing a salary cap crunch that was making it difficult to re-sign their centre Brayden Point, a restricted free agent.
The deal effectively frees Tampa from paying out the rest of Miller’s five-year, $26.25 million contract, which still had four years remaining.

Ppl see one side of the coin only.
JB made it so & earned the flack for it.
His fate rides on this trade.

Maybe the Canucks can take advantage of some teams in cap trouble.

I think miller will be very good, he isn't old, plays a heavy game. We didn't get an ahler for picks did we. That 1st could be in the 20s and wont be relevant for 5 years if at all.
- Bettmanhatesus

This trade has to pan out & JB is in a hole that the team has to dig him out of. He’s put a lot of faith in the team he has built. Takes balls to do what he did.

Will it work out or will he be a EUNUCH?

Miller is good, I’m more worried about the trades 1st and what’s next if Panarin goes elsewhere.

TB fans are pretty happy with the deal. A lot of neutral fans are agreeing that Tampa got a nice return considering that they were in cap hell

The only people who I think are overreacting are the ones who are stuck on “13 goals” and think he’s a 3rd liner or another Sven

The consensus of “Miller is a good player but the Canucks overpaid considering both teams’ situations” is a fair one

- Nucker101

JT is a top 6 F i’ve no doubt & will help us a lot. Sven’s health is problematic for a mid 6 winger. Players like JV are on notice.

I think they will sign Gardiner , and they still have Stecher and Tanev signed this year.

Woo should be ready in the next two years and Barrie is a free agent next year. You also have Tryamkin rumored to be coming back so I just don't see a need to go get Myers and they can't fit both in under the cap anyways.

Nice foresight bro 👍
