My prediction of 5 of 7 picks being over agers is still possible
- Codes1087

That's a bold prediciton Cotton.

I know nothing about him. I wonder if they plan on drafting any D

who needs to draft D when you can overspend on them in free agency

Good take from Twitter...

4 draft picks in. We’ve traded a 1st round pick, 3rd round pick and moved back 51 spots. We traded for a winger and drafted 4 forwards.

0 defenseman.

Okay fair, how about stupid then?
- VanHockeyGuy

sure, I still maintain that he should stick to being a head draft scout where he'd bring value to a NHL franchise and is in over his head as a Prez/GM.

Turns 20 next year, feels like more of a Gillis pick in his lame duck year.

I was okay with the first 3 picks, this last pick doesn't sound too interesting. Would've been okay with drafting a dman instead.

Early night brother?
- golfingsince

Nope, I just don't post when spending time with my wife in the evenings.

I heard the JT Miller trade in the car this morning. Fortunately I was parked when I heard a 1st round pick was involved.

Sounds bang on except obviously Tampa can’t get our lottery pick in 2020
- CanuckDon

per Capfriendly:
*Conditions: If the Canucks do not make the playoffs in 2019-20, the 1st round pick will move to the 2021 draft.

So doesn't that mean if we make the POs next year the pick is theirs? It doesn't say anything about it being lottery protected next year - otherwise it's not conditional - it would just be a 2021 1st - no matter what, right? I'm easily confused....

Yes, 2020 if we make the playoffs, otherwise 2021 no matter where we finish

if the Canucks make the playoffs next year, TB gets our 2020 first.
if the Canucks don't make the playoffs, the pick turns to a 2021 first.

Yes, but if they make the playoffs it can’t be a lottery pick lol. It would be between 16-31. Then they get an unprotected 2021 first

its the best of a bad situation essentially when dealing a 1st round pick, being a strong 2020 draft, and the Canucks likely to miss the playoffs next year.

I want to win. I am tired of not making the playoffs. I just can help but feel dirty.
