Why can Saad exhibit some of he same tendencies and be allowed to play every nite? Certainly, he is an above average defender. But if floating is the focus, it is high time someone address HIM! He was a complete bystander the first half of the season at 6M per. Q blew a gasket once and sat him for one measly game. A little consistency would be a welcome relief. - gabriel

By the statistically superior method of the handful of Predator games I watched after he signed with them... that’s how.

Could easily be. Not clamoring for consistency from you, but rather Hawks brass. How
They choose to dole out time played, seems to not be warranted by compete levels across the board. If that were the case, Saad wouldn't have racked up the 20 point disparity. Not comparing the two guys. Just highlighting the fact that for huge swaths of time, Saad was a complete nothingburger, and was still allowed to lace 'em up. |

Saw this on the writeup on the Blackhawks website about Dach:
At age 18, Dach is 6-foot-4 in street shoes, having grown three inches in the last couple years.
Since the knock on him seems to be on his skating, maybe the growth spurt made his skating a little awkward during the adjustment?
I am hopeful for Dach reaching his ceiling, and taking Vlasic in Round 2 offsets not taking Byram a little bit. Really like the D pipeline right now, it is very deep and could accommodate a trade or two.
Keith - Murphy
Maatta - Jokiharju
Gustafsson - Seabrook
Dahlstrom - Forsling - Koekkoek
Beaudin - Boqvist
Tuulola - Carlsson
Gilbert - Hillman
Krys
Vlasic - Mitchell
Ess - Galvas
Moberg
Wild Cards - Shea, Laavainen, Soderberg, Ryczek, Massie, etc. |

Pass on Lee. I love him, but he plays a heavy game that will minimize his impact at his likely cap hit into his 30s. - Bjm84
But the next few years he’s in his prime and gives us a better shot at winning, I’ll take it |

Why wasn't Zegras drafted higher than? He was passed by several teams. - RedRevenge
For the hawks Dach I think makes more sense...but if we were the kings maybe zegras would be the better pick.....I think Dach is a better fit for us then zegras but think zegras might end up being the more productive player, point wise |

Has Zegras show to be the defensive player that Dach is supposed to be? |

I don't think that's a weakness. The REASON I do like Zegras is he plays with a big time edge. He's a very nice prospect, but no better/worse than Dach. |

Give me a break. There is virtually no major difference in projection between 3 and 9. Even that Zegres was almost NEVER projected to be 3.
You're just trolling. Arguing about prospects of two players drafted, neither of which are "generational talents". Both could be good, both could bust even though you seem to think you know it all. - kwolf68
The reality is there is no generational talent in this draft. A lot of very good young players yes; destined for greatness no.
F$ck Jack Hughes and the other midget Montreal drafted, little twerps like them get pancaked when the real playing starts. Just ask Craig Berube and other scary human beings like Shea Weber and Zdeno Chara. |

Simmonds not returning to the Preds, health is a concern but Bowman may make a call & also on Anders Lee a LW, both can provide something the Hawks don't have much of... Story out mins ago in a NY paper has quotes from Lee and he isn't thrilled about still not having a deal. |

Yep, just look at what that little Yankee pansy Patrick Kane has done in his career after being #1 overall.
What has Shea Weber done in the NHL Playoffs? Oh yeah, he’s never made it out of the 2nd round!
StanBo looks to have learned that you need both size and skill in your lineup. Dach and Vlasic are both gunna be legit NHLers |

Both Kaner and Denis Savard are/were generational talents. All things being equal, wouldn't you opt for the larger player, especially in playoffs? Kaner awareness was off the charts. Lesser lights may have been smashed beyond recognition. It will be interesting to see how ADB performs in playoffs, when we finally get there.

You managed to come up with one guy who is great and who happened to play on a team with a number of great players to form a great team capable of winning. Cups. When Jack Hughes, Caufield and Debrincat post similar results I will concede to your point.
And you might want tp check Weber's resume in Olympic and World Cup events.
The generational talent handle gets thrown around too easily these days. Probably has been less than a dozen pf them in the history of the NHL. |

Hearing the Hurricanes and the Capitals are in talks that involve Justin Faulk on the move and Carolina acquiring the rights to and signing Chase Priskie, Quinnipiac defenseman who didn’t sign with Caps. Extent of talks currently unclear, might not be able to acquire rights ATM. |

Somebody put out a BOLO for Stan. He should be making moves considering we are in position to take advantage of other teams cap hell for once. |
