Although I’m disappointed the Hawks didn’t draft Caufield I am please with the Dach selection. I wouldn’t count on him to make the team next year, but likely the 20/21 season.

I too am warming up to the pick. Roll 4 lines is huge in playoffs and we are on oy to accomplish that. Success model

I got wind on Dach after they had him in privately to Chicago and Turcotte said he was going top 3 or 4 so that signaled that he saw the writing on the wall, but then in Vancouver, but obviously the hawks had L_B_R stats and watched the Cup finals and saw that take overs and big men with poise and vision are rare beside Paul Coffey beiong there for your team...and I dont think they try and rush Dach...but a lot of in the know people are saying he has the correct make-up to succeed early...YOU simply dont want to rush things where he loss confidence...let's wait until traioning camp to gauge his timetable

Unless you have watched more than 5 Saskatoon Blades games, you have no business criticizing this pick. I saw the kid play in the WJ but that’s it. Couple games on an all star team. We won’t know how this pans out for 3 years and have to trust that the staff knows what they are doing.

And it's not only how he plays now. Few, if any, fan can project where a player will be in 3 to 5 years. Even pro scouts don't get it right much ofbthe time. I said before the draft I'll stick by whoever the Hawk scouting staff choose.

I read a number of articles about Dach tonight and one of the things that stood out was his ability to strip the puck from opponents in the offensive zone. If he's even half as good as Hossa was at doing that, he'll be fun to watch.
