In mentioning on the previous blog of the Bruins being one of a few teams very heavily wanting Kreider, among many others having some interest as well, here's the view from another source.

I can defiitely see the Bruins being interested in Kreider and not neccesarily being too focused on him having one year left on his deal before becoming a UFA

I am sure they just wanna get right back to finals, do whatever it takes

How weird would it be if tonight's NHL draft goes down like this one has?

- zazzle

For sure. Although, I just listened to Rishaug and Serivalle (sp?) saying how the depth of talent might lend itself toward lots of teams trading picks, feeling like they can still get their man and pick up assets.

They do match up well, but I don’t think 30 is enough. Like I said yesterday, if they got Kuraly (added in) I’d be very happy. He does so many things well, I’d give him a letter, even the C eventually.

If Kreider is traded to BOS I want Frederic 30 and 1 other piece.

this Barrie rumor started with me as a salary dump for Colorado I’ve clearly underrated the player haha
- Slimtj100

You underrated Barrie in part as far as the offensive part of his game goes, which still doesn't put him near Karlsson's numbers, with Barrie in his 8 year career tallying 75-G, & 232-A for 307 points, and averaging 2.19 SOG/Game.

Otherwise, Barrie has a (-59) +/- career rating, including his career worst (-34) due in part to it also occurring in the Avs horrible 2016/17 season, when they had a 22-56-4 record.

Do they have any other forward prospects? This Fredric doesn’t move the needle for me

The Bruins are and are in a win now mode still for at least 1 to 3 more years, with the likes there still of Kreji, Bergeron, and Chara in key, the latter who may not be there for that long to begin with.

Barrie is atrocious in his own end. Shattenkirk level bad.

I think they’re stronger in the defensive prospect pool than forwards

Are we already in the period where teams can be 10% over the cap? Or does that start with the draft? Or free agency?
Just wondering, 'cause if the Leafs hope to sign Marner and can't go above the cap, they pretty much HAVE to move some pieces first.

That other piece must be somewhat significant in nature. Otherwise, I would demand someone or something else other than Frederic.

I'm not sure, but technically speaking the "new season" starts July 1st. So I would imagine that the ability to exceed the cap by 10% would start then. Pure guess though.

Shattenkirk by metrics was our 2nd best defensman last year. If Barrie is Shattenkirk bad, give me Barrie all day.

Shatty has actually a (-12) career rating in 609 games played (Reg. Season), when compared to Barrie's (-59) career (+/-) rating.

Kuraly makes a total of 2.50 million over the next two years. At the very very least he’s our 3C, he could be a 2C. He’s misplaced as a fourth line center right now, and they have Fredric to take his place. That’s a good trade for both teams

We could then trade Strome, for another 3 mill of the books. Still have room for Lias on the wing and Howden as 4C

Not getting caught up in semantics of “shopped” vs. “listening” — been there, done that, circa June, 2016 — but P.K. Subban’s name is out there floating around in the trade-sphere. NSH believed to be looking to clear cap space for either UFA shopping (Duchene?) or Josi extension.

By no means guaranteed to happen, but it’s one aspect of a lot of NHL draft trade talk going on. Lots of talk doesn’t always lead to draft-day deals. A few execs told me first-round picks may be flip-flopped tonight but big moves involving live bodies by no means a certainty.

I still prefer the eye test, and the eye test says he sucks.
