They could just buy out Shea Weber. - jmatchett383
hahaha....in the extremely unlikely event they did that, any idea what the cap hits would be going forward for him?...strictly for entertainment purposes |

And the Penguins would sign him and Phaneuf to $2M deals? 🤦🏻‍♂️ |

Id almost do that...maybe I would...losing letang would suck, losing JJ would be awesome but those three Mtl players are quality - MattStrat
If they took Jacko as well, I probably would do this trade. Petry and Schultz could take offensive assignments. Domi and Tatar would give us two pretty good wingers. |

I forgot there was buyout calcs available.
For Weber
Years 1 to 3: 3 mill cap hit
Year 4: 6 mill cap hit
Years 5 to 7: 8 mill cap hit
Rest of years: 1.14 mill cap hit
hahaha |

I don’t want Letang moved.
However, if it was Letang and JJ for Domi and Petry? I’m at least pausing to think. |

I've done some pausing myself.....I dunno...I dunno...I mean if they threw Tatar in there too, I really think so...but I think that guts their forwards too much and they wouldnt do that. |

Pens couldn’t afford to add Domi, Petry and Tatar I don’t think? I haven’t looked at their hits.
That’s also a lot to give up for MTL. We’d have to send them Rust or someone. |

The hits don't work ...13 and change for those 3 players ...Pens would have to shed more someone(s) else. |

Also give 'em HQ, and take back a good (but not top) prospect or 2nd rounder. Seems like a lot for the Habs to give, but they get by far the best player of the deal (a Francophone, to boot). |

Far as I know that's correct...I think by training camp our around there you have to be cap compliant. |

If Horny was included the Pens would end up with 2 to 3 mill more cap space I believe.
Can't see JR shipping both Horny and Tanger out. |

Exactly. And as it was reported, Petry/Tatar and Domi for Letang, I’d be enticed to do this trade. I was the one to throw JJ in there to make me feel a lot better about this trade offer. |

Jokes aside Petry is decent. Him and Schultz would do fine on the offensive side of the puck and PP. |

You people give Schultz way too much credit because he had one good season while Letang has been one of the organizations top defensemen in history and is still consistently great and you dummies want to ship him off. |
