Yeah for sure, but he is still pretty knowledgeable on prospects and he did almost nail this guys draft number precisely. The rest of the scouting I've seen had him around the exact same spot except for 2 had him going early 30's.

I don't always necessarily go by age. I go by pro/nhl experience. If a player breaks in at 23 or 24, I'm willing to give them time to see what they are before sealing their fate.
I think there are exceptions to "they are what they are." FWIW, I'm generally pretty conservative on younger players, good or bad. |
