Sure Jacob is a decent player.

Maybe they will change the name of the team to the Smurfs.

Pretty frustrating. Just have to enjoy the first 3/4 of the season before things start getting physical.

Maybe they want to make JG feel taller?

Only logic I can come up with.

Skill is great. But hockey is a contact sport and intimidation plays a large part especially come playoffs. Do Flames actually have an intimidating player on the roster?

Size and intimidation are easy to get in free agency and trades. Skill, not so much. You go for skill in the draft every time.

They compare him to Brad Marchand. No one would be complaining about size if the Flames traded for Marchand.

All things can be addressed. But when you have a glaring need you typically have to pay more to get it.

The Flames are a top five team in the league and extremely well rounded already. The only glaring need they have is figuring out a goalie that works for more than a year at a time. Getting a big body or two is a minor need.

They're also not addressing any immediate needs with the 26th pick in the draft either. If there was a 6'3" 225 lb scoring winger that could step in and make an impact next year at 26, they probably would have taken him.

Size also really doesn't mean anything. Monahan is 6'2" and was probably the biggest no show in the playoffs.

Time to make another deal with Carolina and acquire those 2 2nd rounders...

Monahan has never played to his height (he's not overly heavy). Lavoie, Leason, someone big to park in front of the net can't hurt

I could see Leason slipping to late 2nd early 3rd. I’d take roll on him if he fell some how to us.

Problem is the Flames don't have a second round pick. We will have zero chance of getting him.

Janko is another guy who's massive but doesn't play big....IMO, Dube plays a more physical game. i'll take a smaller player who's fearless any day over a big body.

Fair, that's why I'd rather get a big guy that plays big - both Lavoie and Leason fit the bill as anet front presence.

Evidently Pelletier has the hockey IQ & vision of a Gaudreau & the chip on his shoulder of a Theo Fleury. If he can take the next steps I dont see anyone complaining.

So 2 2nd round picks from the Habs for Brodie could get Calgary interest? Most likely in a package. But Habs would most likely know first that they can get an extension.
