I did, but I have my doubts on just rolling with good production from a player from the end of the season.

If he falls back in pace (which is probably gonna be the case), that leaves us exposed in terms of our options when it comes to our top 6.

I don’t mind him getting a shot at it....of all the forwards not named RNH he has probably earned it the most

You accidentally clicked the img button and if you delete it, it’ll add the end code to it without you asking it to.

Gagner has. Best brought back Oiler since Kyler Brodziak.

No one's banking on him continuing. The season doesn't hinge on his ability to produce- the Wonder Twins will produce regardless. Kassian is a placeholder for the young guys (Yam, Benson, Maksimov, etc) to be able to continue their proper development.

Whether it's him or some other tweener, the RW is going to be the weak link of our top-6, but a certain degree of weakness there is acceptable so long as it's made up for by sufficient strength elsewhere. In the case of that roster, it's made up for by three quality-to-elite scorers on the remaining wings. If Draisaitl scores 30, Zucker scores 25 and Ehlers scores 20, then Kassian (or other fill-in) scoring 10 doesn't matter all that much.

I think you could still do the deal w/o the 4th is what I'm trying to get at. The cap space saved by the Ottawa does enough to offset the need to add anything else IMO.

As for Kassian, I see your point, but I have my doubts.

Also, I finally had a chance to watch the Bill Burr segment you linked. That's some good quality content.

- EdmHockeyMan

Ottawa doesn't save anything cap-wise. In fact, they take on an additional 50k in cap hit. They save ~200k in pay so not really enough for the swap to be even so I'd easily add a low pick to add Pageau.

If that's the case, hopefully, Bob doesn't put the blame on any failures this season on Kassian when he doesn't score 10 goals.

Nonetheless, I see you point.

No no no.....the 1 for 1 Loui or Lucic goes down then after July 1st we flip Loui with a sweetener to the Sens to help them reach the cap floor

If you want OBC, look into who played for the Wings in the 80s-mid 90s. A shít ton of those players are now coaches, GMs, scouts, pundits, or team presidents. Like... a (frank)ing lot of them.

Yeah they are certainly scattered through the league that’s for sure but what’s important for my new #2 team is the captain is back home
