Don’t know how old you were, but I know it was just a small kid, sonyou can be forgiven for being wrong.

The teams were not looked at as “stacked” when this run started. It was a huge surprise they did as well as they did. The reputation of most of those Sabres players is far greater *after* those runs than they were before the runs started.

In fact, 05/06 almost all the players were considered pretty MEH at the beginning of the season. The Miller Vanek Pommer Campbell Roy Connolly thing was brand new. Drudged was expected to be really good but Briere was a reclamation project, Tallinder and Lydman were steady but unspectacular.

My gut says we will trade 31 OA+ for W Karlsson, trade 3rd rounder and TT for PK Subs, Trade Risto +++ for Hall and loan Slow-vodka to a beer league in the Czech Republic.
Mitts will be ready to grab the 3C spot, VO will ride shotgun with Eich and Rino, Skins goes to wing w/ WK, Nylander is ready for 2nd line duty on the right side, Okposo somehow recovers his form and looks like an actual NHL player, and our whole bottom 6 will be greatly improved with everyone playing where they ought to.

We will start the year w/ Hutton and Linus, but halfway through the year, after some bumps in the road, 6K will get called up and play lights-out, thusly leading us into the postseason and we ride a white-hot 6K to Cup glory. Eichel wins Conn Smyth and Wreck-it-Ralph is coach of the year.

He is my fingers crossed hope that we land him. One of the few scenarios I’d be fine if Risto went the other way.

A UFA I don’t hear enough enough... Ben Chariot front WPG. He was Trouba’s line mate I believe. Very underrated stay at home guy.
