Ek is not a good source. Most of his chatter is wrong. Seriously when was the last time he broke anything before the more legit source?

Bowman should think in lesser terms eakin mcnabb/miller carrier reeves be more realistic of getting a deal done. Karlsson would want 6 to 7 million per year or more and least 5 years. Pass

Even Zawaski has nothing. This better be the calm before the storm kind of thing.

I don’t think Vegas has much to say about it because they are over the cap and can’t sign who they have. Especially Karlsson.

Agree but what are the hawks giving up to get him and how much to sign him are 2 big questions. I like karlsson but rather kadri because we know what his cost is per year about the same as AA. Plus vegas is just not going to give him away for nothing and I know they over the barrel with their cap situation, so we'll see what transpires.

Karlsson would be as ideal of a fit as any potential target whether FA or via trade. Not putting much stock in the source, but hoping there’s merit to it.

That's a shame for Callahan but it doesn't help T.B.'s cap situation because if Callahan is going to be "Hossa'd" - they would still need to carry Callahan's AAV on their opening day roster until they could LTIR him after opening day. Correct?
- EbonyRaptor

No, the can be exceeding the upper limit by up to the players cap hit.

Take a look at "Training Camp Equation"

Karlsson would be a nice get - Toews/Strome/Karlsson as the 1/2/3 centers works for me. Probably means Anisimov would be traded which brings me to a question I've had about a potential Anisimov trade - it's been noted that if Anisimov gets traded it would probably be after July 1st so the Hawks would have to pay the signing bonus making it more attractive to the acquiring team. If that happens - does that signing bonus get included in the Hawks 2019/20 cap? I'm assuming yes - which would then mean that the Hawks wouldn't rid themselves of AA's entire $4.55M 2019/20 cap hit - only part of it - correct?
- EbonyRaptor

After the bonus is paid to him, AA,'s cap hit will still be 4.5M, either to the Hawks if they keep him or the acquiring team if traded. It just means that he will be receiving less cash throughout the season. Go to AA's page on cap friendly to view the breakdowns on his signing bonus and salary. .

LTIR does not provide cap relief. It simply allows a club to exceed their upper limit. It is far from an ideal situation and can handcuff teams who use it

- it limits who the club can recall
- accruing cap space becomes very difficult
- exceeding the limit can result in Overages

This. Every team close to the cap trades away the LTIR contract because it affects their flexibility so much. It also brings overages affecting future years into play.

William Karlsson seems like the ideal #3 center. I wonder how much he would cost? Vegas can't really sign him, which makes the trade relatively cheap.

Ducks re-sign Ryan Miller to a one-year deal $1.125 AAV and also ink Derek Grant and Korbinian Holzer to similar term contracts.

Quick Oilers rumor hits

Ryan Rishaug: Drafting defenseman Philip Broberg at No. 8 is a possibility.

If the Oilers are able to acquire a third-line winger for Jesse Puljujarvi, they may do it. If they can’t, they may hold on to him.

IMO, Karlsson is better right now that Strome. If (and its a big if) they acquire W. Karlsson, I would think they would end up ultimately dealing Strome.
