Morin hasnt proven anything. Where the flyers are at they cant just give him a top 6 spot to see if he can handle it. They cant afford to let him learn on the job at this point. It is what is it.

So Hagg might be a casualty of the revamped defense. Big deal. He is a decent bottom pairing guy. If you cant withstand the loss of him then your team/organization is in dire straights to begin with.

Would be my guess as well. Guy was really trying to force it last year.

I've seen the statistical analysis and understand why people are gonna have concerns. I get it.

But here's where I am, with Braun and Niskanen: Fletcher evaluated the team, and had enough time to do so, to where he clearly decided he didn't like what the defense looked like.

I'm not saying that I want picks flying around every which way, but at the same time, they haven't been good enough for a long time. You can't keep bringing the same guys back. You can't keep waiting for draft picks to pan out -- they have enough picks, have made enough picks, to offset some of that.

Braun needs to be better, and Niskanen needs to play like he did the second half of last year.

But we need more than we've gotten from this roster. We can't keep bringing back the same guys and hoping, praying, wishing for them to be better when they've shown they won't.

This team has needed multiple right-handed defenders for YEARS. YEARS. That isn't the only reason to make a deal, and you certainly don't want to make bad deals, but I guess I simply refuse to lose my mind over these deals because they simply haven't been good enough with what they've had and neither Braun nor Niskanen are signed for long enough for me to worry

Radko Gudas was a right handed shot, right? Also Phil Myers, if I’m not mistaken.

Now, here's the thing that almost has to happen: Hagg or Ghost, hell, maybe even Provorov but him I doubt, one of them has to be on the move. That's just math.

I've said all along that I wouldn't trade Ghost. I still wouldn't. I don't think these trades mean that he's expendable, by any stretch.

But if you're truly serious that you're gonna play Myers, that he is a roster defenseman who is replacing Gudas, then SOMEBODY's gotta go

To me, moving one or two of these players is burning down five years of what it took to be built.

Fletcher’s wonderful success in Minnesota surely wasn’t a sign of things to come.

The Chuck and Paul duo are going to simply saddle this franchise is continued mediocrity, which was Fletcher’s staple in Minny.

Moves for the sake of moves, not moving the needle in any way, and back to undervaluing draft picks.

Saddle up.

This franchise so badly needs a (frank)ing purge. Pathetic.

Shall enjoy seeing the marketing guys try to get casual fans to get excited about this bullpoop. It’s going to be alumni nights and Gritty as the selling point yet again.

The idea of you can't keep bringing the same players back just doesn't apply when you're talking about young developing players in their early 20's for the most part. Every team doesn't have to have 3 RH and 3 LH defenseman to make up their defense corps.

The best thing you can do for a young goalie is bring in vocal great defensive leaders. This improves us and will help hart especially. We got better even though I dont like the cost.

It's really weird to point out that what other people doesn't say matters because that also means you're saying what you say doesn't matter. Of course it doesn't (frank)ing matter. We aren't part of flyers management so our opinions on trades and whatever else happens mean dog poop. But we can still say it because it's a (frank)ing chat site. A healthy Samuel Morin would be a female dog to play against. He’s 6’7” with a nasty streak. Hagg is of the last of our proven physical young players. The Flyers would recover without them but why should the Flyers have two? For a two to three year fix of Matt Niskanen and Justin Braun?

Robert Hagg is a player that I’m willing to bet once we trade him, he ends up on Boston’s roster down the road and handed a Stanley Cup ring because you need a player like Robert Hagg to win. A winning organization could make a role player like Hagg work for them.
