Sanheim can play on the point on the power play but he won't be as good as Gostisbehere. Someone is getting moved. - MJL
Hagg is in the last year of his contract, he could be the one moved. Morin is signed for 2 more years.

They could get something for hagg. With the type of dmen that were brought in coupled with AV’s insistence on puck moving skills on the backend. They’ll get something for him. |

If it comes down to Ghost or Hagg being traded, I much rather trade 11OA + Hagg or Hagg with 2020 1st pick over trading Ghost at all to acquire what we want/need. It feels if we can’t comes to terms with Hayes that Ghost’s chances of staying with us decrease. And that sucks considering A) he’s a great player when he’s on his game B) he’s coming off a down year.
One other thing... not that he was available nor that we needed another LHD, I would have rather had Brenden Dillon over Braun. Nothing against Braun, just like Dillon as a player and he seems like a great teammate. Hilarious guy when he’s mic’ed up too! |

He's an NHL player. I said earlier that I miss these a lot, but I honestly don't see how he doesn't get you a 2nd. He's a 5/6, youngish. That's gotta be worth a 2nd

I think that’s asking a lot. 3rd yes
The problem is while young...3rd pairing is his ceiling |

He’s the kind of guy that could quietly get to 700-800 NHL career games on a third pair.
And that’s worth something |

I like the moves. Flyers have the extra 3rd at 65 to help compensate for dealing 41 and the extra 3rd/4th conditional pick next year to compensate for the 2020 3rd. Already said, but Braun in a contract year should light a fire under his butt expecially after a down year. |

Regarding Hayes asking too much money/term, what do you see as the best solution to filling the center spot in their line up?
Keeping Patrick as 2c and using Laughton as 3c
and signing a cheaper 4th line UFA center, or hoping a current prospect can fill in the bottom 6 center spot?
Making a trade for a guy?
If you’ve already posted on this and I missed it, apologies. - Marc D

It's coming, but it's a little slower than some would like. I think he's done fine for a young player, but he simply isn't ready to be a 2C

What you should know is whatever amount of flyers you watched was more than enough
He’s trying |

I'd be kinda sour at that. I understand where you're coming from, but I'd be a little sour

I think that, too -- man, Luke Schenn's still bouncing around, up and down, getting games. Hagg's no worse, IMO |

Problem is while young...3rd pairing is his ceiling and they are easy and cheap to find and sign a couple weeks into free agency |

Exactly what I thought you'd say which is why I asked that. That's completely wrong. I disagree with your entire statement here. Recipe for failure.
You couldn't be more wrong about wanting to win multiple Cups. It's about what path of team building gives the team the best chance at winning a Cup. Your way isn't it. You're completely disconnected from the variables in the NHL in a Cap environment. Get that through your head.
Do you really think the moves made so far, including if they sign Hayes push the team towards winning a Cup? - MJL
My way isn’t? Off what factual evidence? Because you disagree just to disagree. You have zero idea what you’re talking about. You’re so full of poop, but the best part is you believe it. For every Chicago Blackhawks and Los Angeles Kings there is an Edmonton Oilers, Buffalo Sabres, Arizona Coyotes, and New York Islanders.
You said the other day that the St. Louis Blues were further along then the Flyers last offseason. You had no idea what you were talking about, but you tried to sound smart. This time last year we were joking about how their pick nearly ended up a top 10 pick for the Flyers. The Flyers were the team with the better looking future. And then Blues continued to add and got ROR (a deal people like you scoffed at, which shows what you know). Then as they continued to struggle, they fired their coach (something else you advocated against last year). Then magically, after tinkering with the chemistry and adding a new voice, they took off.
So let me get this straight. The team that just won the Stanley Cup last week, who was worse off than the Flyers last offseason, added big time and small time pieces to their team by trading picks and spending money. Then halfway through their season, when they realized they needed a new voice, they fired their coach without hesitation and the rest is history. All stuff that you’re advocating against and yet you have the audacity to tell me I’m wrong. It just happened like 5 days ago.
You’re a joke. And before you come back with your Blues were in a better place last offseason argument, remember that they absolutely tanked at the end of last season and NO ONE in the hockey world thought they were in a better place than any other team. |

He has been inconsistent
Flashes of greatness at times
The second half of his rookie year he made some pretty good strides and looked ready to break out and to be a full time 2C, but last year more inconsistencies, the whole team was off and they had some big management changes.
Still very much a work in progress but likely will be a very good and maybe better than that NHLer. |

PHI and pending UFA Kevin Hayes are closing in on a multi-year contract with an AAV of around $7M. Term expected to be at least six years, perhaps seven. Prepare to take another UFA off the board. |

Well, that's how much it was always gonna cost. People are gonna lose their minds when Duchene clocks in at 8.5-9 |

Sean Couturier might be the best contract in hockey right now.

To me, signing Hayes for 7 large just might save Ghost's ass for a couple of years. Gonna need that 4.5 cap hit going forward
Means Braun would have to damn near be Bobby Orr to get an extension. Provorov might get his ass bridged this offseason. Sanheim might get renewed straight up, because I don't think he has arbitration rights |

7.14 million per 7 years.
The brand new Andrew MacDonald has arrived, just in time for the old one to leave. |
