I guess when you trade draft picks for a player a couple years past his prime that makes you get older than drafting a 2nd and 3rd round 18 year old kid that could take 5-6 years to make the team if at all.

I dont get it.

His first choice is boston and since they didn't buy out backes and have free agents to sign I think that ship has sailed

i agree with the raspberries given on the braun trade. this is a freakin disaster that reveals complete incompetence from a gm. a 32 yr old rental chosen above 200th in the draft a very long time ago with limited skill set goes for a #2 and a #3?!? wtf?
i would argue either of the picks would be too much! heck, i was telling a friend that replacing gudas type skills would be cheap as non skating defensive players out of favor in market. there had BETTER be another piece to this play which compensates us for the gift we just gave SJ. i would think we could have had trouba if we swapped out the #2 for the #1.

As a sharks fan pointed out on facebook "braun was vlasics d partner for the last several years and is capable of top 2 minutes. you guys will love him he's great defensively, he just wont impress with points."
