Well yea, they're operating like they're a contender and like they did when Holmgren was GM. It was okay in a different era but it's not the way to build a team now. Fletcher is trying to fulfill the mandate he was given and the Flyers are pushing towards being a cap team. - MJL
Or he is giving his young dman much needed help That will pay off in the long run. Nah must mean they are operating like a contender |

So you have an issue with improving the team? Reality is 3 picks not 5.
maybe the GM sees a holdout or 2 among Ivan and Travis.... - daryl stanley

I am just gonna say it. I don’t know if you are right or wrong (bold)...too soon to tell. However, this is an extreme over reaction to a one year, 3.8 mil cap hit. - NC Flyers Fan
Niskanen is off the books in 2 yrs as well as Amacs buy out. |

I guess if Sami Kapanen’s kid is the return for ghost I’d be not horrified
Is this unrealistic?
I think it's realistic, Maybe Kapanen and a 3rd for Ghost. Though the leafs gave up their 1st for Muzzin and have players to Sign, so maybe they won't want to part with the 3rd rounder. Or maybe our 1st for Kapanen and ghost recoups some picks from somewhere else. I think Ghost is gone either way. |

He was vlassics dpartner. He is a shut down dman that can play well next to a top defenseman. As a sharks fan pointed out on facebook "braun was vlasics d partner for the last several years and is capable of top 2 minutes. you guys will love him he's great defensively, he just wont impress with points." - Richieattack18

You know they essentially have 1/8 of the cap locked into those two 32-yo-old dmen now right? (and AMacs BO) |

Rumors continue to swirl about a possible trade to NAS for Subban. If the Flyers are willing to go the route of an expensive addition on D, I’d much prefer they set their sights on Drew Doughty. Less $$, and he’s won a Cup. - BroadSTmayhem
I think the move is going to be for a forward. To move a Ghost or Sanhiem in a deal for Subban doesn't really address any needs. |

It's not about one move. It's about the obvious mind set they have. Your reply is a narrow view. Are they going to think and act differently next year or the year after? Scott said they want the Flyers to be a Cap team. That combined with what Fletcher has done this off season to this point tells me if the Flyers have $100 bucks in their pocket, they're going to spend $100. |

If Kapanen is the key piece coming back in a deal for Ghost they are selling pretty low imo.
I'd rather package Ghost with something and get a real impact forward if that's what it's going to take. |

That is 12.4 million in cap space tied up in Niskanen, Braun, Amac buyout, and the Gudas retention.

Well too bad just like most irrational idiotic flyers fans, they want to bring the team down and judge the moves as TERRIBLE even before there is a finished product. |

Okay, so you tell me how far away we are from going on the way. Do not use the Blues as an example because we're not the Blues and I’m sure they broke a few records doing what they did. - SuperSchennBros
I refuse to participate within your parameters.
If they make the playoffs and win a round next year are they then close enough to make moves?

I have an issue with him not getting the correct return in trades. He took on salary and assisted other teams with cap problems in all three deals. Generally, teams get compensated for taking on/retaining salary.
I want to improve the team. However, I want them to be good for a long time. Pissing away picks left and right is not the way to do that. Whether it is five or three picks it is still unacceptable. - mickel25
Daryl Stanley is already on the top of my list for people you shouldn’t listen to because he seems to be fine with the deals makes. So I wouldn’t waste the potential Carpal tunnel syndrome typing to him.
However, arguing picks we should have gained is also a ridiculous argument, especially when you add those phantom picks to the actual picks we actually lost. |

They have some young forwards already in Patrick, Konecny and Lindblom. They have Frost and Farabee coming. Who is the next young defenseman coming not already with the team? |

I don't like Fletcher's nonchalance regarding draft picks. - mickel25
we have 9 picks this year, not gonna make them all. and we need players to help now. not only with points, we need defensive capable dmen, we allowed the 3rd most goals last year. we need to help Hart. We also were too young, braun and niskanen have more playoff experience combined than our whole team almost. we stocked the cupboard for five years with Hexy and made draft pick after draft pick and still didn't find a stud. there were plenty to be had, and we got good players, but draft picks are a gamble. Braun will help, more so than a busted draft pick or two and Amac. |

Count me mildly optimistic. I think the defense is better now. The defenseman we got back are not long term. We haven’t moved any of our young players yet.
I think a big move to better our offense is coming. If so then yes, I think this team becomes a cup contender. If not we are a playoff team that helps develop our younger players. |

Well seeing how we haven’t won around since 2012 and have made the playoffs every other year, it’s kinda hard to have faith in making whatever Hypothetical next step you believe is coming. |

its more like Niskanen and braun and Gudas cap retention is 10.55 mil and Amac buyout saves them 4mil so Niskanen and braun costs us 6.55mil. #teampositive |
