Wasn't he a line 1 or 2 with the Sharks? - leon neon
Spent half the season w/ Brendan Dillion, the other half with Vlasic. So kinda of an in-between season for him.
He was top-4 before they got Karlsson. |

If Ghost had an even mediocre season last year, then I would agree. Guy was a healthy scratch late last season. He definitely still has value (especially with that contract) given the skill set he's shown in the past. And I agree that the other two being off the market helps his value, but I don't see it making that much of an impact. Hope I'm wrong - Big_E_88
Well if Braun fetches a 2nd and third. And trouba with zero contract and no guarantee to sign gets you a 1st and young roster player I would imagine a 65 pt defenseman that plays top PP on a whopping 4.5 mil contract will bring in the bank. |

Near panic? No it's just that the myth that I support and like everything the Flyers do is just that, a myth. When the Flyers make a move I like and I say so, the chorus will come out again and say I support everything the Flyers do and forget about when I don't. It's really very funny. - MJL
I meant it more as a compliment. You're not your low-variance demeanor today. You seem bothered. |

I think i give up.
If they win the cup next year and are a cap team. I DON"T GIVE A (frank). We won a cup finally.
Kevin Marshall was a 2nd rounder I believe.
People acting like we just moved Frost for Braun.
Good grief charlie brown.
I'm happy I might actually have a product to watch. I might actually see playoffs. I am not sitting guessing " well when everyone develops and we keep our picks...We might be good eventually"
Rant over. Enjoying the rdie

You would think. But at this point I wouldn't be surprised if Fletcher trades him for Weber and retains 50% of Ghosts salary.

Well yea, they're operating like they're a contender and like they did when Holmgren was GM. It was okay in a different era but it's not the way to build a team now. Fletcher is trying to fulfill the mandate he was given and the Flyers are pushing towards being a cap team. |

Name on 1 hand the number of D men we have in the system that will play in the NHL...yes, HUGE Surplus indeed...that pick at 41 was going to be a Dman...and 11 might be one as well...the farm is empty for D men right now and those picks would help fill it... - JW98FlyerFan

Their D and PK should be much better next year.
The implications for the salary cap with all their young guys needing deals in the next few seasons are a legit concern.
I am happy they seem to be shoring up holes and weaknesses in the line up while Giroux still has game. |

The Sharks were in a different position as a team than the Flyers are. Look deeper. |

Rumors continue to swirl about a possible trade to NAS for Subban. If the Flyers are willing to go the route of an expensive addition on D, I’d much prefer they set their sights on Drew Doughty. Less $$, and he’s won a Cup. |

Realistically the other shoe has to drop. There are to many dmen now and someone is going to be gone.
I doubt it’s Provy, Sanheim, or Myers so it’s either Haag or Ghost.
This might depend on the Hayes situation to determine what move Fletch has for either situation.
I’ll live with the Braun deal if Fletcher does something smart next but I’m not feeling very optimistic.
If the 11th and either Haag or Ghost is gone then I either want the flyers to move up in the draft and get a solid bottom six guy.
Ghost trade should be for a top six forward 25 or younger 50-60 point range.
Haag I would want picks and bottom 6 guy that is young. |

Doesn't matter. Flyers should be looking to the future and playing the young players. Not trading draft picks for a 32 year old player with one year left on his deal to take the spot of a young player. Scott and Holmgren pulling the strings. The Flyers are rocketing towards becoming a cap team. - MJL
They have played the young guys and the results are less than inspiring. They threw them to the wolves and it hasn’t worked. They got them some help that doesn’t hurt any long term plans. Yea such bad moves.
Luv the take The spot of the young player mantra. Such a false narrative. What young player is having their spot taken ? |

Okay, so you tell me how far away we are from going on the way. Do not use the Blues as an example because we're not the Blues and I’m sure they broke a few records doing what they did. |

Are the a cup team right now. Probably not. But I don't care if they are a cup team in 2025. I am ready to see progress and a competitive team now.
As much as no one seems to like to bring it up....it is a business. Winning helps the business. Promising theres a chance you might win in 2025 doesn't really work.

Mckenzie talking about Hayes 6 years north of 6.5 possibly... Oh god, that would leave around 23.5M to lock up Provy, Sanheim, TK, Hartman, Laughton, backup goalie. Gulp, buckle up gentleman. - ClaudeFather

Doughty makes 11 million to Subban's 9, and is signed for 7 more years compared to Subbans 4. |

I am just gonna say it. I don’t know if you are right or wrong (bold)...too soon to tell. However, this is an extreme over reaction to a one year, 3.8 mil cap hit.

Remember a few years ago when Buffalo tried running a defensive core with all their young guys and prospects...yeah that was the year Buffalo was covering the puck carrier with 5 players. |
