That I agree with for sure. I"m nervous that it's Ghost + 11oa for something.

And I'm hoping its not Provorov.

I'm enjoying this. Flyers making moves. Fans panicking. Ha ha ha. This is a lot more fun than the last few years. Seriously, they have been stock piling picks for years. I'm OK with trading a few away this year. If this becomes a habit year after year I'll have a problem with it, but all this panic is premature and silly. The Flyers were too young on D. They needed some stability and veteran leadership. This is definitely an improvement. I'd hate to see Ghost go.

Finally the simple solution to fixing the crowded defense is moving Ghost to wing 😉

What are the chances the return is going to be less then we hope for?

Puck moving offensive D are pretty damn important. Torey Krug was Boston’s mvp (maybe after Tuuka but he was important) in the playoffs, I know ghost doesn’t have the same 2 way game as Krug but he could in the future.

Trading ghost is going to come back and bite them in the ass

San Jose and Rangers did us a favor. With Trouba and Karlsson off the market Ghists value just doubled.

I guess if Sami Kapanen’s kid is the return for ghost I’d be not horrified

Is this unrealistic?

Forgot Myers too. And Carter Hart the very next year.

The problem I have with the 2 recent trades is Fletcher isn't building towards anything. Heck, I could make a case these aren't even "win now" type of deals. Specifically Braun.

If it's the good version of Ghost, no. Flyers might have to add a piece still.

Did you know braun has been a successful part of one of the best defensive pairs in the nhl the past 5+ years playing with vlasic? Probably not because you dont watch the sharks or know anything about the guy.
Braun will be replacing hagg most likely, ghost get traded.

Provy Niskanen
Sanheim Braun
Morin Myers

- Richieattack18

Braun is a guy you want on the 3rd pair not the 2nd pairing.

If Ghost had an even mediocre season last year, then I would agree. Guy was a healthy scratch late last season. He definitely still has value (especially with that contract) given the skill set he's shown in the past. And I agree that the other two being off the market helps his value, but I don't see it making that much of an impact. Hope I'm wrong

I'll never understand the Hagg hate here by some people.

Young, solid 5-6 dman, plays physical..

Oh noes he doesnt outlet pass the puck in 1.3 seconds..CORSi fail.

- opeth_pa

But Ghost does the spin-o-rama on the blueline, can't get a shot through then gets torched in the defensive zone....ELITE!!

Braun replaces Gudas.

Provy - Niskanen
Sanheim - Braun
Ghost - Morin/Myers/Hagg
7th - Morin/Myers/Hagg

You forgot they carry 7, not 6. Morin/Myers/Hagg; One of get traded, one gets 7th spot, and one traded (depend on Ghost). My guess... The may try to move Ghost, but if no good trades are available. Ghost may be 3rd pairing. In which, case they move to plan B... Trade one of Morin/Myers/Hagg, whoever gets the most value and/or who doesn't win a spot at camp.

Ghost at third pairing is good, limited 5-5 time and keeps him fresh for the PP, and overtime 3-3.

Okay...just thinking this thru aloud...Braun played 2nd pair minutes with an offensive guy...we have just the 1 year left on his contract. So stop gap at right side of our second pairing.

I never thought that pairing Sanheim with Ghost was a viable option. This doesn’t look promising for Ghost. Myers needs more time to take a top four role. Maybe part way thru the season...Myers can get bumped up and Braun can drop to the third pairing.

If Ghost stays, it would be Ghost-Myers or Morin-Ghost or Morin-Myers....all as options for the third pairing. Is Hagg or Ghost being traded?

This trade is so weird that even MJL is near-panic. Process that.
- Tomahawk

Near panic? No it's just that the myth that I support and like everything the Flyers do is just that, a myth. When the Flyers make a move I like and I say so, the chorus will come out again and say I support everything the Flyers do and forget about when I don't. It's really very funny.

I'm a fan of all the second gen kids that are playing right now. They all seem like fire plugs. Kap, Domi, Tckachuk(s).

Although it does make me feel a little old.

If a 1st round pick on average becomes a career average player at 63 percent, why are you about to give up and cry like a child about a 2nd and 3rd when we obviously have more moves to come where we can recover picks and still have a HUGE surplus of young guys that are getting close to NHL ready??
- Richieattack18

Name on 1 hand the number of D men we have in the system that will play in the NHL...yes, HUGE Surplus indeed...that pick at 41 was going to be a Dman...and 11 might be one as well...the farm is empty for D men right now and those picks would help fill it...

Doesn't matter. Flyers should be looking to the future and playing the young players. Not trading draft picks for a 32 year old player with one year left on his deal to take the spot of a young player. Scott and Holmgren pulling the strings. The Flyers are rocketing towards becoming a cap team.
