And that's fair. I can get behind this. All I ever said was if it took Risto for Ehlers, I wouldn't hate it, and could see Myers if he didn't cost as much as some think (Not even going to put a number on it, just a relatively lower cost then Risto.)

Every time we start to accumulate depth.. they we should trade one. We added Montour so now we can trade Risto!! Well now Nelson is playing 20 minutes a night and thats not a good plan guys.

That's not actually inconsistent. Many of us see him as a second pairing D. However, guys that can play the tough minutes he has don't grow on trees. Some gm will overpay.

So I know we only have BOGO for one more year, but if he could be moved, it would free up a bit of cap space, then I hope we are players on Duchene. Then do Risto + 31st for Hall and we should be on our way (with a few other smaller moves / signings).

Only issue is, Hall will want ~$10m+ and Duchene is getting ~$10m+, so that would be Eichel, Duchene, Hall, then Dahlin all at $10+.

Then Reinhart, he should want ~$8m+, so that would be a very top heavy team.

Top heavy sure, but in the playoffs.. I don't care about the cap, let the math wizards worry about that. Build a solid young core then the good vets will come....

This would be ideal three years ago. He’s on his last year and our replacement is Casey Nelson. Not sure that’s a better option, we aren’t in cap hell and he’s a serviceable 3rd RHD. Not sure why you’re eager to give him away?

Keep Risto, Montour and dahlin all on 3 different lines. Get 3 defensive D to pair with them. Roll 3 great D lines with a puck mover on each line. We shouldn’t be trading RHD for equal value. They don’t come up easy. An over pay by a GM or Risto stays.

The analytics tell the story of how good a guy is and that includes how he is used. The guy has been an absolute warrior for us and he should be respected for that. If we can't get good value for him I am all for moving him. I think his problem is that he has a low hockey IQ. He and Bogo are a lot alike in that sense.
