Passing on a player because of size is a really dumb thing to do. Evaluate based on talent. Talent wins at the NHL level. Now if they believe someone is more talented, so be it, but this isn't the '80s

dont worry you will get people that say he’s to small

Not gonna lie.... I was a HUGE HUGE HUGE Alex DeBrincat fan in juniors... and I see a lot of DeBrincat in Caufield now.

Everyone thought DeBrincat was too small and only really good coming up because he was on loaded Erie teams with the Stromes, Raddyash, and of course McDavid. DeBrincat had 3 straight 100+ point seasons.

So are you on the bandwagon now 🧐

Tampa re-signed Coburn, they really need to move some bodies and cap especially since the cap is going to be closer to $82 million now
- Stripes77

Are they really?????? Wow. I didn't think they would do that. 34 years old.

I guess after having 3 straight seasons of 15 or less points in a full season he did jump to a whopping 23 this past year.

He's 6'7.5.... I'm 6'5 and am more than fine in a normal house.. I doubt it he built some Andre the Giant type special triple wide recliner chair.

God is it weird to look at Tyler Myers stats and see that he's been gone for 5 seasons and he is now a 30 year old (in Feb.) defensemen looking for his last big contract.

Karlsson off the market

Trouba off the market

Live look at Risto's value following those two moves:

I did... and I mentioned that obviously adding the forward scoring is big but having 2 offensive dmen is very underappreciated. Risto has been our only point producing dman for 4 years and look at how poor we have been. When he was off the ice we were a cluster.

Now we have 2 guys that can score 40+ yearly... well built teams need scoring depth.

- JVince11

40% of Risto's points come on PP1, to which Montour replaced him on it last year.

Maybe that changes with Ralph & Co, but if not how does a shelter-required 3rd Pair Dman at 25 pts sound for $5.4m

TRADE BAIT: GM Kevin Cheveldayoff says #nhljets have a lot of balls in the air. So what’s next? Belief is Jets offered Nikolaj Ehlers to #Canes for one of their right-shooting defencemen. Ehlers is one of 10 new names on the #TSN Trade Bait board: [url]www.tsn.ca/trade-bai…

Not for nothing but if Winnipeg is looking to unload Mathieu Perreault and Nik Ehlers, they would solve a couple of problems for the Islanders. Not sure if the Jets want what they got but hey.

What a dumb short sighted analysis....

% of points from PP of top scoring DMen in 2018:
Carlsson .47
Yandle .63
Burns .34
Barrie .43
Hedman .47
Krug .57
Klingberg .45
OEL .44
Dahlin .44
Ristolainen .39

Please... continue to use this as a big mark against Risto like he has some absurd more points from PP than does EVERY OTHER F'N Dman in the NHL.

Myers scores roughly 30/35 points per year. Risto scores 40/45. They extra ten absolutely matter, but when you look at the deployment in PP time, the way that each are used, and just the time spent on the ice overall, they actually aren't that different. Offset that by adding Ehlers upfront, and I don't see how you can argue the Sabres aren't getting more scoring. It's almost like you would assume that Myers here would score 0 points.

No I won't use this. I will say that Myers is 30/35 point player that doesn't get the same PP time as Risto. Or just ice time in general. And if given that, I think you'd see that 10-15 point gap shrink.

And he actually can play D on a team that led the league in scoring and wins. Generally you want a balanced D with guys who can shut down goals, and some who can join in the rush and contribute as well.

I'm betting Slavin or Faulk... Fleury probably isn't worth that yet.. I doubt they would deal Dougie again so soon after getting him.
