If they retain a bit off the top that’s not soo bad actually. He’s still an easy 40-50 pt defensemen in 65-70 games each year. Would be a helluva vet to lead/teach the kids.

We put Risto in a position to fail and he still had a higher WAR than Subban. Obviously not enough for me to say that Risto is better, but enough to say that at 9 million for 3 more years, this probably isn't the acquisition we need right now.

In may i figured he'd be a target cause NSH is in a bit of bind cap wise and Subban doesn't have a no move. Figured they could steal him from the Preds for 60 cents on the dollar.

More I look into it the less of a steal it seems. Idk maybe this is their best option but it just feels like more of the same except the name recognition leads fans to believe its a bigger move than it actually is.

Eriksson has a NTC and I remember he was REALLY weird about only wanting to play in Vancouver when he was a UFA last summer. I doubt he'd want to come to Buffalo.
