In the mock draft, do I need to get a Jets GM to now draft at 20?

Based on this trade we can assign them the least viable prospect available.

getting Shatty to approve that trade would be tough
- jimbro83

Wouldn't be much easier to convince Russell This hypothetical would include the assumption that they would both accept it.

Yeah it’s that bad. Jeezus Chevy

In fairness it also bought them one playoff run with both Trouba and Hayes on the roster. Unfortunately, that only resulted in 2 playoff wins.

At the end of the day, you expect a bit more from a trade involving one of the higher-end d-man options on the market. That said, trade values often just aren't as high as people seem to expect.

So let me get this straight..

Rangers traded Kevin Hayes to the Jets for their 1st round pick and Brendan Lemieux.
The Jets then trade Jacob Trouba to the Rangers for their 1st round pick back, and Neal Pionk.

So in sum, the trade turned out to be Jacob Trouba and Brendan Lemieux for Neal Pionk. Wow.

Probably more than anyone is comfortable with, but we'll have to wait and see. I'd imagine a deal would be done within a month or odds are, he's a rental.

Jon Lane: “By trading for Jacob Trouba and Adam Fox, bringing Vitali Kravtsov and Igor Shesterkin to North America, probably drafting Kaapo Kakko, and the maturation of their young players, the Rangers are accelerating their rebuild. Pending UFA Artemi Panarin is out there too #NYR”
