what would be nice is if Dallas signed Zucc ASAP so we know we have that extra 1st next year to play with

Even greater absurd is how the Jets accepted the Rangers offer, despite rumors if they are factual, that some other teams made even higher offers. I just posted a few minutes earlier why that may be the case, if those sources words I read that from are true in fact.

I just really think they love Pionk, I am sure they have scouted him for years, from Sioux City, to Minn-Duluth, I am sure the Jets have had their eye on him for awhile

we just have a great advantage in these college free agents wanting to sign here

NYR land a high quality Dman in Trouba and likely not done yet with guys like Kreider, Vesey, Namestnikov and Buchnevich potentially in play. Could be an interesting week/wknd for the Rangers.

I think Brooks only wrote that very early approx. 2:00 am article on Hank, in feeling that S.J. could be the likely only destination he may be willing to waive his NMC, to at least temporarily leave NY for a short time period, due to his reasons suggested.

But Brooks made no mention of the Sharks #1 starter plans for three seasons from now, after Hank's contract expires with him then at age 39. That's why Georgiev would be a better long term choice for the Sharks, as you stated.

I think this is a realistic offer for point:

Chytil, Buch, 2 1sts.

Point is going to cost a ton. Buch himself is an RFA, but I think will get around 4 million in a bridge deal. Tampa would then have around 2-3 million to either bring up an AHL guy like Volkov or sign a depth guy

I realize that in the real world neither team would probably make the trade, but if it's going to happen, it'll look something like that.

I replied to your very early made comment today Jim, on Pionk, in that despite fans getting sour on him for being over matched defensively, Quinn gave him an extended look in ice time, due in slight part to others injuries, or poor play on their back line. In effect, maybe they were also showcasing Pionk's talent and abilities, which convinced the Jets to make the Trouba deal to acquire him, after seeing him play when even younger.

My comments about Brooks were only regarding the Islanders and I still stand by those. He knows (frank)-all about the Islanders and the only reason I can fathom that he reported it was because Chevy was feeding him garbage info trying to put pressure on the Rangers to pony up more assets to push the deal through.

That could be the case as well. But when word is rumored by some source or more that other teams made greater offers, it likely means that the total package combined was of a higher return value as of that day. That, barring it wasn't just one piece offered in an asset of some type which was worth greater in value, like a top 10 or so overall draft pick alone, or a top prospect, or current elite NHL player.
