Wait so we could had Trouble for scraps? Jeez

Edit: I don't really want Trouba as I think he's overrated but surprised at the low return (if he signs with the rangers)

A 1st isn't really scraps at all but ok.

Bill,

Since you have involvement in the alumni organization, I am curious as to which players in the golf event settled in Philly?
I get the sense that Crossman and Goodenough did as they seem to be involved in most events. They just don't seem as prominent as Propp and the rest of the Cup winners (granted Goodenough was on the 75 team).
Do the pre-Cup guys, Brossart and Belhumeur live in the area?
Obviously Marsh returned to the area. Did he do so just to run the alumni organization? Didn't he marry a woman from the area?
My assumption is that guys like Myre and Bathe just visit.
Is Mark Howe based out of Philly for his role with Detroit or does he actually live in Detroit?
I have also wondered if Roenick settled in the area and commutes up to Stamford to do the studio work like Keith Jones?
Thanks

Winnipeg fans probably aren't happy with this deal. I don't think Trouba is as good as many think but I still prefer him over Tyler Myers by a wide margin.

No win situation imo. Jets were in tough spot. He's been saying for 2 or 3 years that he doesn't want to be there. They had to get something for him plus this helps their cap issue a little. Still more moves they need to make.

I can't imagine the fans are happy with this move and some others they will have to make.

You never want to be a position where you have to trade good young players because of cap issues. It just reinforces how I want the Flyers to proceed. You sign older higher cap hit players, it can force you to lose leverage and have to make moves. Don't become a team that is capped out and is not good enough. Don't try and rush your team due to a lack of patience. It will bite you in the end.

If Trouba was a top pairing defenseman there would've been a lot more going back in that deal. Rangers aren't the only team looking for defense.

Teams don't know if he'll sign long term. Rangers can trade the 20th cause they have the second pick so it's worth the gamble

MJL was right all along. 11th or Ghost was always an overpayment for Trouba.

There is that true.

Ultimately if you think the Jets got robbed here then the Flyers should be looking to move the 11th because the move probably sets the trade market for the draft.

I think it's a pretty sure bet that they will sign him. You make the deal knowing that you will agree to his price.

I get it they’re older and not in “game shape,”...but holy crap...

...if a scrum breaks out on the fairway, I’ll take the likes of Holmgren, Kelly, Bathe, Carkner, Secord, Clarke, Boulerice, Brown, Daniels, Stanley, Kindrachuk, Fedoruk, Cote, and Ed Hospodar any day of the week against ANYONE!
