Great trade for the Rags. I don’t think their rebuild is going to take a decade.

its not reassuring at all Ghost stays. Wouldnt read anything to him not being traded for Trouba that he wont be moved.

My guess is Fletcher, smartly i must add, didnt want to give him up for a guy who wasn't committed to staying here long term. That would have been silly.

I hope they give ghost a year to rebound instead of selling low. With a better balance on d, I expect him to have a solid year.

Rangers still need to pay him. Flyers dodge a bullet.

I'm shocked at the low return. Jets in cap trouble and needed a salary dump maybe?
- Hextall271

They got a first round pick and a decent young RH defenseman. I think what we're seeing is that the fans view of what most thought Trouba was worth were way off. Those that stated that he wasn't worth that much and wasn't as good as some think and the fact that he has one year left on his deal were more on target.

More reassurance Ghost is staying and I expect Provy n Sanheim signed long term.

A little premature. Ghost moving for a Dman never seemed likely. I feel like he's first to move for a young forward depending on how things turn out July 1st.

He’s no Niskanen. And Kakko will be no Patrick. Guarantee Kakko doesn’t come close to scoring 30 points next year

Maybe, but trading Ghost for a forward means they would be leaning on Myers or Hagg for top 4 minutes. I just don t see Fletcher doing that. Sure he could take a run at Gardiner in FA if Ghost is traded for a fwd. Gardiner is probably getting at least 6 X 6, no thanks.

Rangers also were not allowed to negotiate with him prior to the deal. They'll overpay to resign him for sure.

I have to believe we didn't value him as high since #11 is still in play.

Wait so we could had Trouble for scraps? Jeez

Edit: I don't really want Trouba as I think he's overrated but surprised at the low return (if he signs with the rangers)

Winnipeg fans probably aren't happy with this deal. I don't think Trouba is as good as many think but I still prefer him over Tyler Myers by a wide margin.

I agree. but he is the top UFA Dman. Someone is going to pay him, pretty sure it won t be Fletcher.

Rangers took a shot as they have multiple 1st rd picks. It may or may not be a gamble worth taking.

No way I move the 11th for a an unsigned trouba. You walk away and they did.
