I agree. Doesn't mean I think any goalie outside of Price is worth that though. To be honest, I wouldn't even want price on my team because of that contract. It has ripple effects up and down your roster. - RickJames77
Goalies be weird. Nobody wants to pay them, but they are almost always the most important player in the game |

Prices health issue would scare the crap out of me if I am his GM

But...Flyboys fans said they have the most and bestest young defense in history. Why they be acquiring d? |

Cap issues are real too. Must be careful with your dollars and a tenders age. Jmo |

It's all a disaster!
Needed Lou here to give 40 point players 6 million. - RogerRoeper
ya, he could have gave a guy $15m over 12 mths for .5 point/game. |

Had a bad year
Didn't watch them more than a few games, but his play and his stats sucked from what i have seen lately. |

I watched a few of their games and he was a tire fire. I don't think I'd give up on him after a down year though. |

If you look at some players salaries..... Willies is bargain in comparison to some of the aged vets deals still on the books. |

Who do you want more, Nylander or Eberle or Nelson next season? I know the answer. |

Yup. Never had less than 61 points in a full season and is 22. Nelson is 28 and has hit 50 points once and got 6 million... |

Pretty much any UFA signing is a bad contract waiting to happen. |

So many older players overpaid. Some twice, bought out then overpaid again. Lolol |

Eberle and Nelson are passing their prime years and are starting 5-6 year deals. We have not seen close to the best of Willy |

Should have kept the 78 year-old GM who overpays supporting players terribly. |

My big issue with him was on the PP. He was pretty terrible QBing a powerplay that on paper seems to have the talent to have a good one. Maybe their PP scheme was just poop, but outside of his offense he's never really been known for his defensive acumen. Didn't they go with 5 forwards on their first PP for a week or two? |

Agreed, not sure about the 5 forwards. |

SJ just cut 3.8M from the Cap and they got a 2nd and a 3rd rd pick for a 32 defenseman with one year left...
Seems like the Leafs have to take on more salary from other teams just to trade guys like Zaitsev/Marleau/Brown. |

Zaitsev and Marleau maybe, but Brown ain't no cap dump. Not at his age, salary and production given his role. |

I thought Braun would be a guy the leafs should look at. Only one year and RD. SJ needed to unload cap so picks is all they wanted.
Coburn signs in TB for 1.7 for 2 years. |
