Good for him. I hope he swings a deal that says "EAT IT!" to Canuck fans who constantly female dog and complain about his every move.

His track record isnt flawless by no means but I do really like the work he has done.

Perhaps by July 1, we see:

Draft Zegras
Trade away:
Eriksson
Spooner
Sutter
Virtanen
Goldobin
Hutton
Trade for:
Lucic
Gotisbehere
Puljujarvi

Sign:
Gardiner
Edler
Schenn

Would that be so bad?

Baertschi/EP/Boeser
Pearson/Horvat/PulJujarvi
Roussel/Gaudette/Leivo
Lucic/Beagle/Motte

Edler/Gotisbehere
Gardiner/Stecher
Hughes/Tanev
Schenn

I assume you're excluding picks/prospects from the "trade away" category because you're not getting Ghost for any combo of those dudes. Zaitsev, sure, bot not Ghost.

Anyone know and follow JD Burke on Twitter?

Hes the editor-in-chief at EliteProspects and has a show on TSN1040...

anyway, he is claiming that the Canucks are trying to move up in the draft, possibly to #6.

I suspect that means that they really like Zegras....

They are hoping Byram falls with all the forwards availible is what I think. No need to move up and give extra to get a good forward prospect in this draft.

Yeah, every rumour seems to imply different things. I guess if he goes down, he wants to go down with players he likes and move on from the players he's not a big fan of.

Yep, which is the smokescreen and which isn't. It seems like something is shaking down soon.

If Det has a chance at Byram, I don’t think there’s any way they part with that pick.

I can totally see the Canucks falling in love with a player and moving up... Imagine getting Pettersson. Getting Hughes... Now the draft is in our building and we get... Seider? No (frank)ing way. They’re jonesing for that Pettersson/Hughes high again.

Picks/prospects sure.....I dont care about how they are acquired, within reason....thats not my job to figure it out. Of all the rumors, this is how I hope it shakes down.......

Two more sleeps till the big day!

New blog is up, with the breakdown of my Mock Draft selection, the update on Edler and Tanev, and Pettersson's quest for the Calder at Wednesday's NHL Awards:

I dont think he is around passed LA at the latest personally.
First 2 picks, duh
3rd Turcotte (hometown boy) / Byram
4th Dach / Zegras ( Makar makes passing on Byram possible)
5th if still availible Byram for sure.

And that is the danger....
With dont have depth at any position except goal where we can trade from. We need ultra high end talent yes, but we cant steal from a proper build to obtain it.
You know the old story, dyke / hole / finger 😉

Trading to 6 makes a lot of sense. If Byram is there, huge win. If not? Canucks get their man in zegras and Jim explodes again just like Hughes. Love it

If he can get to 6, maybe he can make a second move to move up to 3.
