Lots of moving parts and I’ve read on The Athletic some stories about their owner wanting things to happen. They seem to have guys with value to move so I don’t foresee any issues there.

Tampa has way worse issues.

It doesn't bother me, that teams may be getting themselves into cap trouble or at least getting to upper cap limits, gives Canucks a chance to try take advantage of the situation.
Also, it was just a few short years ago, that this team seemed to be stuck in cap trouble and struggled to get free, nice to see other teams in this situation.

Hope Benning swings for the fences & tries to take advantage of the VGKs situation.

They could have traded a 7th round pick for Sutter and saved $3million

Of the 3 or so teams, in the most trouble, Tampa, VGK and Toronto, I like what Vegas may have in return, the best.

Something has to give for VGK. Philly effectively have taken themselves out of being a player. Jets getting closer to fixing their cap. Leafs must be getting nervous as each deal or day goes by.

How about Karlsson? What’s the cost?

No Canucks news, which isn’t necessarily a bad thing; boy Fletcher seems to have been given a mandate by Comcast to make poop happen or else you get the Hextall treatment
- Pacificgem

His boss is Homer, the NHL is like a video game for that guy. He gets bored of his roster every year or 2 and goes nuts with trades/signings.

Karlsson, W?

He’s a product of the system. Overpay him to come to Vancouver and he’s the next Bryzgalov (minus being a goalie)

Do any of these GM’s know the basics of accounting and mathematics? Gillis and Gilman set out as a cap team and assigned dollar amounts to each position on the roster. If player in question thinks he deserved more than is allotted to his projected roster position then “see ya!”. This includes a guy like Boeser. If he wants to be paid first line centre or top defenceman money as a 1st line winger, then you are better off trading him, with a sweetener if necessary, for a player that fits that spot salary wise.

So Boeser and #10 for Tarasenko?

So far he’s shown patience. Something is cooking. Feeling good about it.

I hope you're right. You'd think with all the chatter he's got a few irons in the fire. Man I'd like him to hit one out of the park. Tough to do.

Makes sense to keep Demko given his age compared to Markstrom (expansion draft looming). But, would you take the #13 FLA for Demko?

General consensus in here is that Demko isn't worth a 1st round pick.

In saying that Buffalo has the 31st pick and could probably use an upgrade in goal.
