Just tell me that you have Broberg outside of your top 15

It would go to what Kuzma was told by a scout 2nd pairing Dman ahead of 2nd line forward. If a team has a bigger need. Van needs D more that F in the prospect pool. Just trade down like Carol did and get what's left. Marginal difference in the later D unless one grows tremendously. IMO.

I think if Benning does trade down and picks up an extra pick (like from Ottawa ) and took Seider and Vlasic round one , and with their own pick in the second took Grewe , they would answer a lot of needs for years to come .

Putting in an offer sheet to Meier for a 1,2,3 is not dumb. With next years pick at 15 Canucks would hope to draft a top 6 forward that could score 30 goals 60 + pts by the time he develops and hits 22. Meirs is that young forward you hope to draft. You remove the wait of hoping he develops into a top forward. It cost you an extra second and a third. Last time I checked in the last decade the only Canucks drafted in the second or third that have played for Canucks are Demko and Briesbois.

I’d think they’d have contingency plans in place — if the one or two guys they’re really high on and thinking may drop do, they’ll use the pick. If they get snagged, they’ll have a couple trades frameworked for teams looking to move up to snag one of their guys.

If they are BPA for those picks. Drafting for 3-5 years from now on immediate team needs doesn't make a lot of sense if there is a much better player on the board.

A player like Grewe is not a player I would look at for 40th. Feel there could be much better players available. Early 3rd round for sure.

Everything I am hearing is that a trade down is very likely. Plan A

Everyone has their own opinion of players much like I think Cozens and Dach are a waste of a pick in the top 15.

Scratch Coburn off the list for a stop-gap defenseman, he just re-signed in Tampa.

Benning (and Weisbrod) have painted themselves into a corner. It's going to make a hell of a mess if they aren't patient enough to wait for it to dry.

I don't think so . I am going to guess Cancuks are still in on Zaitsev. Who knows they could even trade the 10 for a Ghost. I will still wait to see the final roster.

I was listening to Will Schouch draft report this morning and he was saying how Arthur Kailyev should be a first round pick and has no idea why anyone wouldn't think so. Shows a few highlights and I instantly thought that he looks like MDC. An extreme good shot and a bigger body. A player has 40 more points than games played and is still a -13 on the season. Not a very good skater with low hockey IQ.

I wonder what people like in him honestly.

We’d be lucky if he’s there for us at 40 - he definitely won’t be there at 71. His grit/skill blend is something we desperately need in the pipeline. Who do you expect to be there in that range that’s a “much better player”?

Yes. My point is that they have both come out publicly saying they want to "fix the D" this off season. They are setting up the owner and fan base to be disappointed if they can't make that happen. As each of the prospective players gets locked up before they even have a chance, their desperation grows. If Benning whiffs (which I hope he does) I hope he tells us that rebuilding takes time, they like how things are going and they will continue to progress slowly and methodically.

Point will cost whatever cap they have remaining. Relieving Tampa of Callahan should get a not bad return.

Just because his Fav player is Brad Marchand doesn't mean he's going to turn out to be as good as him.

WTF does that have to do with anything...

You think if anyone thought he was the next Marchand we’d be talking about him at (frank)ing 40?
