Yep. Dude spews garbage in the reg. |

Apparently JJ is now listed as being #3 - taking Maatta’s old number. Now I’m less happy about the trade |

Apparently his old numbers were 3 or 7... both were taken here so he did 73.
Could have waited a few days to not be a Richard. |

Eh I don’t think it makes a difference. If the number is available why not take it? It’s not like he took Sid or Geno’s number the day after they retired. |

Honestly, that's a smart thought an might be his main motivation. Phil is probably borderline for HOF. - Tojo.
I’m sure he does want to make it but riddle me this: how many one dimensional hockey players are in the HOF who have never won or been leading candidates for the individual awards at their position? Seems like most of the guys who go to the hall have a few, right? Andreychuk only had some selke votes, but dude was a captain, a minute muncher, played PP and PK, certainly not one dimensional. Looking at the list, I don’t think Phil holds a candle next to these guys |

Right now he’s 16th all time American born scorers. I think if he cracks the top 10 he should be a shoe in for the HOF. He’ll be right next to guys like Tony Amonte, Brian Leech, Joe Mullen, etc.
250ish points would put him in the top 5 all time American scorers of all time. Surely he’s hall of fame worthy if he’s behind Jeremy Roenick, Keith Tkatchuk, Phil Housley, Patty Kane and Mike Modano |

Yeah not sure about HOF for Kessel at this point. Guetznel has more 40 goal seasons than Kessel. He has only scored over 30 once in the past 6 seasons.
How many of his assists were primary last year? |

32 out of his 55. Good for 2nd on the team behind Sid on Primary apples.
21 of his 31 even strength apples were primary too. |

US HHOF? Sure, why not. Actual HHOF? Not IMO unless he has some monstrous seasons and gets some hart votes, which I don’t see happening |

Are the other top 5 American born scorers in the HOF? If so, I see no reason why Kessel wouldn’t be. |

Obviously all I care about is bread man. I would kill for him in a Pens uni. But if the pens were able to clear a sizeable amount of cap space, I think there are still a number of interesting FAs.
What do you guys think will be the going rate for the below players?
Edler
Myers
Gardiner
Nyqvist
Panik
Donskoi
Ferland |

Dreger just said cap is expected to be 82 Mill
There will be some serious scrambling going on. Maybe moving Phil to Arizona for picks/prospects could work. Then maybe snag JT Miller or Tyler Johnson from Tampa who is desperate to resign Point. |

Edler - 5
Myers - 5-6
Gardiner - 6-7
Nyqvist - 6+ (crushed it last season)
Panik - 3.5-4
Donskoi - 3-4
Ferland 4+
Add in Brett Connolly in the 4-5 category, another really good UFA RW |

It's $1M off the projected amount. Not earth-shattering for the Pens, but it will definitely affect other teams who were already in cap-hell. |

Ehlers has jumped up high on TSN's trade board. I wonder what WPG is looking for in return. |

Tampa, SJ, VGK are all in trouble now. Plus Bob just said it could be less than 82. We could realistically just resign our RFA's and hit the season with cap space to play with. Tamps cannot. Point alone will cost them more than they have right now. |

Yeah I don’t put stock into plus/minus. It’s a dog poop stat.
He was actually a +8 at 5v5 over the last 41 games. I prefer differential stats at specific situations as opposed to arbitrary ones created by the NHL. |
