Rumblings are that the salary cap is going to be about $82 mil as opposed to $83.1, announced the same day as the draft. |

That could work in the Hawks' favor this off-season. Vegas is prime for fleecing. |

My take. #1 could be up for grabs.. no pun intended. - Q-stache
Thank you Q. I guess the decision then is another difficult one if in fact they go Center.
In my eyes if this is the #1 center of the future, the ability to create scoring chances tops everything, so I'd go the hands route.

Supposedly Gothespere is worth Shaw and Byron from the Canadiens, one year younger than Gus, I would take those 2 for Gus right now.

Take a look at their salary and terms. Would you still feel the same? Both would definitely be useful in their own way but adding close 6M is salary for at least 3 years?
Maybe 1 of them and a pick in the 2nd or 3rd round.
I would rather just get Danault.
Edit: Its actually closer to 7.5M. Gotta say no to both if it were me. Maybe add another salary like AA or Murphy/Maatta(lol) |

Assuming both would be second/third line players, AA would be traded.

I don't think the Hawks can go wrong with Byram, Cozens, Dach, or Turcotte. A reach at #3 for Zegras or Caufield..... |

Yeah, I guess but those two on your 2nd line probably means your team ain't so good. Both are excellent 3rd liners, though. Neither is as effective as centers, too.
Habs need left D. Add Maatta(lol) and we can get a 5th back. |

Beaudin for Suziki. Hawks draft Byram to replace Beaudin and get a young center in place of Cozens/Turcotte/Dach. Montreal gets a young D. |

hmm. He did have great chemistry with the bass player. He is only 5'11, tho. Some might rabble that he is too small.(all sarcasm)

Byron > Perlini, Shaw would be a great fit on 3rd line
