Unless Keith agrees to join Q in Florida, how do we fit another roughly 7.5M in defence budget? Not even accounting for yet another body on the D. - 67hawks
Just keep trading good forwards and they can make it a wash. |

It would be awesome to read this board if Stan had given EK a contract for $11.5M in AAV. |

Anisimov, Saad and/or Muprhy could be sent out in deals to free up room. |

How about Forsling to the Ducks for Rowney + a 5th? Ducks get a young Dman with upside who needs a change of scene and the Hawks get a forward that can be trusted to play some PK minutes on the bottom 6. |

I would think of the 3 you have listed.
A and C are being pushed hard to be sent packing. Question is who needs either, and are these hockey trades or freeing up cap room?
Id rather see them trade AA then Murphy. Not a huge Murphy fan, but AA is done. Talk about slow..... |

AA actually had a strong World Championship which I have heard helped the Hawks case to move him.

He not insulted at all. But still honored that Wiz had my six.
So, it appears things are set up perfectly....for the board to vociferously complain about whoever (see what I did there?) Stan picks. - mohel
And again....who cares? Is this is a franchise lock player who is going to jump into the NHL as soon as next year like Kane, or Crosby, or Toews, or McDavid or Malkin or Ovechkin? I highly doubt it.
So again....they will take a kid who can barely vote, not drink in the USA, and pray that his body fills out, and that his skill set maximizes and he develops...…
Once they make that pick....people will start with the "busts" and what have you because they didn't take "their guy"
Glad we have so many advanced scouts and draft gurus on here..... |

RE: Strome's next contract. Both parties will want to prove/see that last year wasn't a fluke.
His 2019-20 season will really dictact how mich money he makes and what term CHI is comfortable with. |

As of right now?
NO higher then 4-4.5 AAV for 3 years.
DeBrincat, he deserves big money.....but if Bowman inks Strome to north of 5 AAV I have a real problem with that given a very small sample size of success at the NHL level. |

Lets hope so...I think he's the guy without a chair right now in this lineup and what he offers to the table.
If they can add another veteran D man, things start to look a helluva lot better stabilizing the back end.
2,5,7,6 (maatta), 56 and 28....and in a veteran and I like it.
I still keep Gus for offensive purposes..... |

MacKinnion would give Keith Wind burn....if we want to be fair.
Keith has lost 2 steps and is getting smoked a lot more. Seabrook is a given. Hell the entire defensive unit gets smoked as there isn't a TON of speed back there. |

Does it matter?
We aren't talking about breaking up the 1985 Edmonton Oilers here.
We are talking about improving a very bad Hawks team that has been exposed since Nashville ran a damn train on them.
You think Bowman is sniffing around top end F talent (Pavelski, Lee) because he thinks this team only needs a few tweaks? Hell no.....Im sure Bowman has a plan to easily replace AA if eh can find a taker. What about Sikura that everyone seems to think is a lock to make this team?
You take Kahun away, bench a turd on D and add in Maatta and that kid they just signed from the Worlds and this team improved. Sorry. |

The numbers made me feel the need to go check...no sweater number listed for Maatta yet. |
