Off topic but Trouba would be such a great acquisition. He’d be worth trading a haul for. Fantastic fit for this team. |

Gus to Toronto could make some sense... he might make Babcock go mad though!
The Leafs have so many moving parts right now and Marner is obviously the priority.
Keep an eye on them. Their situation heading into this week is similar to the Hawks Summer of 2010 purge.
This bad thing is... the Leafs haven't won anything yet. - Tyler Cameron
Toronto doesn't do anything until Marner's contract gets resolved. Just think if this turns into a Nylander situation,

Dahlstrom for Kapanen make any sense for TOR? Or Murphy for Kapanen/Marleau? Frees up a big chunk of cap space for next year for TOR |

So much for Doug Wilson being a smart GM. I don't understand this term at all. If this brings them a Cup I'll be in shock. - Hawkytalk
I was wondering if Wilson is banking on Karlsson ending up on LTIR before 8 years is up. The Sharks D could be a real drag in 3 more years with Vlasic, Burns and Karlsson accounting for nearly 27 million. Depend how long those guys can play at their current level, but it is a risk for sure. |

Turcotte and Cozens.
With Byram a distant third unfortunately. - TommyHawk
3 Question on the 3 Centers.....
Turcotte, Cozens, and Dach.
1.Which one has the best hands
2.Which one has the best motor.
3.Which one - the best wheels

If it is TB, then why not ask for Cal Foote? If Gus goes, why not ask for D prospect in return especially a big boy like Foote. - hankscorpio
Any prospect has to be no more than one year away from nhl and the ceiling or projection must be above average skater, competes physically, displays grit, is NOT weak in reads and puck movement. You can probably get most of all that with Tampa big dman prospects.
Do not trade or want a prospect not willing to have at least some interest in physical compete. Any other type prospect is a waste to bring in. We have enough prospects already so that means you go only for a team need regarding style of play. After all if a really talented point producer is in their system, they aren't trading him. Tampa has a strong pipeline churning out prospects so you have to do something they really need to the max. Take on Callahan........only a few teams would consider it. A stumbling block is the fool owner and GM running Ottawa |

Yep. A Keith and Trouba pairing would be amazing.
Hawks would have to pay a lot for him though!
Mark Lazerus had a fake trade of: Brandon Saad and a 2019 second-rounder to Winnipeg for the rights to Jacob Trouba.
I think it would take a little more. |

They may regret not drafting Byram... BUT... they might be in a great spot for defencemen for years to come with Joki, Beaudin, Boqvist, Mitchell and even guys like Carlsson, Gilbert, Krys, etc. - Tyler Cameron
You know who else was a cant miss Dman, Mr Ryan Murray #2 overall!
These drafts are a tough to predict. I remember a bunch of these same fans wanting Phil Kessel instead of Toews. |

I bet they get some descent offers at the last minute before the draft. Or as soon as free agency opens. Your offer is easily matched and is not enough. Something of value - not real high value - has to be going their way. Pass on Marleau. Interest in Murphy ......not really....but if the cap is an issue just maybe some team bites. |

Would love Pavelski here with the Hawks. He’s got some chemistry with Kane from the Team USA days and is a Wisconsin boy like Keith. I’m sure he’s looking for one final payday however, so might be fiscally irresponsible of the team to sign him when they’ve got Strome to take care of as well. - TommyHawk
Keith went to Michigan State. |

Dach is the worse skater. Just average. They are different types being how they play from physical contact as in checking and board work. One is a north/south, one a bugger on the puck .....read wiz review at draftsite.com and you will get specific referrences to your inquiry |

Josh Manson and #9 for Gustafsson and #3 - Ogilthorpe2
Like your thoughts but you keep listing right handed defenseman, would prefer a left, don't think buffalo or Anaheim have a left defenseman that would qualify, although would love Hampus Lindholm from Anaheim but I doubt the Ducks would trade him.

I am interested to try for Murray. But first i need to resolve exactly whom we would protect regarding the expansion draft. Then trade plans can be laid out. |

He not insulted at all. But still honored that Wiz had my six.
So, it appears things are set up perfectly....for the board to vociferously complain about whoever (see what I did there?) Stan picks. |

I think Murray's boat has passed in regards to the Hawks with the Matta trade, I don't think you want to go into next year with 2 guys who had down years with regard to injury.

Need more. They would have to add 2nd or 3rd for me to take that deal. |

It's official on cap friendly. Karlsson 8 years at 11.5M AAV.
SJS with 16 players signed and 12.5M cap space. Pavelski, Thornton, UFA's, and Meier a RFA still unsigned - boilermaker100
SJS seem to be set on D but only 7 forwards showing on CapFriendly. Not much money to fill out those forward lines. Will be interesting to see what they do. |

Unless Keith agrees to join Q in Florida, how do we fit another roughly 7.5M in defence budget? Not even accounting for yet another body on the D. |
