Was listening to NHL radio yesterday Dave pagnotta was on and he was listing the percentages of players to play at least 175 games in the NHL. Was broken down 1-5 5-10 and so on for the 1st round and then by round and after the 4th round on it was the same. That said the first rounders almost all played that many games it was pretty high Point is most first rounders at least play and to give up 4 in a row would be extremely tough to do. Also we dont know the isles will be that low they could regress and be much higher too.

I dont see them offer sheeting marner or laine to that high of a number where they give up 4 picks either. I'd love them but we are talking top 5 to 10 player league wide monetarily speaking and those guys aren't worth that to me.

Laine scores a ton and we need that but his d blows but maybe barry can get him to play better like ovie. I like marner as well but not at 11 million per year over 7. If they are going to spend that I'd prefer panarin as he only costs the money and not the picks.

Will be interesting to see what lou does and I think he will make a splash one way or another. Time will tell, if he did land one of those guys it would be huge but the draft is how you build a team these days and it's how teams are able to move out expensive ufas for cheaper rfas under team control

Dude there’s a reason why there has been 1 offer sheet since the last CBA so get a grip on yourself and don’t pull it too hard. I mean it’s nice to imagine this shat I agree but 4 first round draft choices are stupid to give up, sorry.
Mental midget mafia, are you BDGallof? We are called the Group Think Mafia.
I have been here forever, but it’s great to read your hyperbole on here, I mean it’s great to get a good laugh in Dailey.

There have been offer sheets, I think weber was the last major one where philly offered a ton and nashville matched it. there have been quite a few if you look but not for the 4 1sts

Since 1998 there were 6 and I believe Dustin Penner was the only one accepted and signed by the offering club.

Worked out well.

Accepted yes but more have been made, maybe a team offers one just to screw the other team over. How about lou offers 9.5 so the leafs have to match it or something similar? Forces them to keep their guy and screws them on the cap

Since the new CBA 6 offer sheets were made since 2006. With the only one accepting and leaving his team being Dustin Penner. You and Giant Larry carry on about the offer sheets.

Listen mental midget someone said they don't occur and they do its just extremely rare. Am I expecting us to offer sheet marner or laine? No I am not and as I said before in my nicely paragraphed post I would prefer panarin as he is only money not picks. Some people I tell ya

I would Offer sheet someone like Kapanen or Meier, to hits that would put Toronto or SJS in Cap HeLL and you would only be surrendering lower draft picks but still possibly getting a quality top 6 forward.

And then others would offer sheet Pulock, Toews, Barzal, Beau, etc.

Yeah I don’t think Lou is pissing in his fellow GM’s faces.

After reading your Hockey Writers article, I edited my previous post. In my old age, I forgot about some of those transactions.
