He's a fine player, but not sure the Flyers trading a 2nd and 3rd is really a smart move for a 1 year rental of a 32yo defenseman - eichiefs9
It does seem strange for the Flyers and for a player that does not put them over the top. |

It wasn't smart, but I'm all for it. Fletcher stinks and I hate the Flyers so I hope he keeps on doing stuff like that |

Flyers were better off hiring Fitzgerald from the Devils to be GM. |

Still strange John as Dolan is still owner of both. In Basketball you get two star players even Dolan cannot mess it up. It's still MSG and it's not like hockey players get the good MSG and Basketball gets bad the bad MSG. This is not about Islanders vs. Rangers and I cannot blame players staying away from the Isles before Lou and Barry. NHL has better teams than the Rangers who treat their players just as good. - ses111
Yes, Dolan is still the owner of both, but he's known to meddle in the Knicks. The Rangers he leaves alone. He lets Sather handle them. It's kind of like the Islanders all those years when Wang was meddling in the team while knowing nothing about the game of hockey. Who wants to play in that kind of atmosphere? |

No question Dolan has hurt in terms of Basketball. Dolan still seem to let Phil Jackson run things and I know that did not turn out well. Jackson was just looking for the big paycheck though and did not put in the work. While the Rangers have not been a dumpster fire for a long time, they have also not been challenging for Cups. It's no big deal I just find it interesting with hockey players continuing to flock to the Rangers. |

#SJSharks trade Justin Braun to #NHLFlyers for a 2019 2nd round pick (41st overall) and a 2020 3rd round pick. - eichiefs9
Seems a bit of an overpayment. |

Anything is an improvement over Andrew McDonald but giving up a second and third for a 32 year player that is on the last year of his contract that is meh isn’t good asset management. I’m all for improving the team but with that said how much of an improvement that is for what was given up is more than debateable. |

It wasn't a smart decision and it only marginally improved their team. All they did was basically make a stupid purchase on a credit card |

Flyers can sign a dman for a year and keep the picks or use them in a better trade. |

David Clarkson has submitted his no-trade list to the Golden Knights, per sources.
His contract still has 1 more year at $5.25M, which is troublesome for cap-strapped VGK. He submitted his list to Vegas, so they could move that contract during or near the draft. @TheAthleticNHL |
