I wonder who they target if not Hayes. I just don t think it will be Kadri. Haven t read anything just a hunch.
- ravishingone

Kadri is not a good fit, for the Fox News Guys. A big portion of the Flyer fan base.

The issue with keeping AMac is if we had to use him his $5mil salary kills us. Fletch has bigger plans this offseason. AMacs buyout signals more to come.
- cdearth23

It tells me he plans to be up against the cap this year, which is exactly what Scott said he wanted to do.

Let's hope they do it wisely.

If they're not up against the cap this year, then it's a waste on next years cap.

Because it gives them time to negotiate without having other teams in his ear and it shows a commitment to the player.

And at the end of the day it's a 5th rounder. For every Jamie Benn there ends up being taken there are about 500 players that never sniff the NHL.

- hereticpride

now that they have a window to talk to the player before free agency does it really give you that much of an advantage? Can make a case either way i suppose. There is always tampering anyway so to me not sure they should waste a pick or at least make it conditional.

What else would it take to get Coyle for Hayes' rights if their is indeed mutual interest for Hayes to sign in Boston? Maybe a 2020 third?
- Bayareaflyer

Hard to say, I thought Boston gave up more then that, not sure. Does the Niskanen trade an indicator that Fletcher is looking for players with term, not 1 yr rentals? That s my question at this point.

Id like to see them target Anders Lee who for some reason still hasn’t signed with the Islanders. Or Dzingle who had 54 points in only 14 TOI . He should command a lot less than Hayes. I also like the way Marcus Johansson played for the Bruins in the playoffs.

I m good with Lee, not liking Dzingle. Lee a former captain, I have a feeling would interest Fletcher a lot.

Dzingel if the contract is good is a nice top 9 player. Hes not a game changer but he would absolutely make us better.

100% AGREE I think Lee is a perfect fit to what is needed in Philly, Leadership, Shots, Draws as many p minutes as he takes, I would take him anyday.

Fletcher traded for his rights so he knows before the draft whether or not he could fill the 2C position with Hayes. If Hayes doesn’t want to sign then he knows he has to trade for another center. The draft is one of the prime trading days of the year.
- psuhockey

This is actually a great point. If you know that you're not in the running then you know what you need to do on draft day when teams are looking to deal, not July 2nd when everyone is scrambling.

I'd rather they just waived AMac and kept him as a call up option.
-jmatchett383

Same but not a huge deal. The buyout is much smaller than I thought it would be.

With $33.8M cap space - what is left to sign a 2C and 1B goalie after the RFA's?:

Maybe $10M to spend for 2C, backup, bottom 6?

How do our RFAs settle out?

Provorov: 7 x $7M
Sanheim: 4 x $5.5M
Konecny: 5 x $5.25M
Laughton: 3 x $2.4M
Hartman: 3 x $2.1M
Bailey: 2 x $1M (minors?)

Pronman's Mock Draft this morning on The Athletic has the Flyers taking Soderstrom at 11, and Broberg dropping to 15. For those who have been following this year's prospects and mock drafts, what say you all?

For the record, I am not a huge fan of Pronman, he comes off as being a little too impressed with himself. Maybe thats just me.

Also, I've barely seen any of this years draftees and therefore do not have an opinion, but I was surprised at this Mock simply because I had read that if Broberg were there (which he probably wouldnt be) the Flyers would most likely take him, and now I see him sliding (in one Mock) to 15.

So.. thoughts?

edit: that was not this morning's this was from the 13th. my mistake.

Whoever said the Flyers have tremendous center depth? Everyone knew it was a hole in the lineup last year. Especially with trying to keep G on wing.

Both have been ranked really close. I prefer Broberg but really not much difference. I do think the Flyers draft D unless a reall top pick somehow drops that far.
