Dodged a bullet there.... not the right guy for this team, but I can see MB making a panic move if things don't go his way to improve the D.

Never said he was overrated, well maybe by some in here... but I always said he was a good player, why would I suggest trading a crappy player for a good D? I said exactly what that article says....

Read somewhere else that Edmonton has contacted Bergy on several occasions about Danault but the asking price has always been high

It also says that teams see him as a third C. I agree.

He had 53 points last season and is good defensively. You should know since you think it's funny.

Indeed.... the league is so watered down and talent is spread so thin, but as far as prototypical 3rd line C goes, he's one of the better ones, with the way he plays the position and his ability to put up 35 points in a defensive role with reduced minutes, good FO % and a great penalty killer

I'd say he'd be a lot better at 2C if he were given some size on the wings. Guys got talent, and if he get 60 points in that spot keep him there. 35 point 3C is a low end expectation for the role tbh.

indeed, he reached 53 pts (while playing a stellar defensive game) with close to 0 pp minutes. what more can we expect from a 2C?

He had the best 2 wingers they have glued to him all season long, I'm not sure adding size would be making him a better 2nd line C.... I bet if you look around the league, at least half the teams did not have 3 C with over 35 points on their roster, and again, his defensive prowess make him not only better suited for the 3rd line, but one of the better players for that position... if he's in your top 6, chances are your not making the playoffs

Meh. Most centers don't score all that much. That comes from the wings.

The best they had.

Again, best 3C doesn't mean much since it can't really be proven it's just opinion. Like when the Islanders had the best 4th line in hockey. If you're touting the talents of those in your bottom 6, saying how your 6th D could be a 4th on half the teams in the league or you back up leads to your GM constantly constant geting trade offers so what? If you're talking about these guys it says to everyone that you're big guns shoot blanks and aren't getting the job done.

most had over 200 minutes of pp time. (and finished the season in the - btw)
Danault had 39 pp min and finished +17.
enough said this is getting ridiculous.

So he's a 3rd line C.... no PP time, more valuable on the PK, good +/- , reliable on face offs and can barely score, a good 3rd line C
