I think it's a pretty bad deal for the Jets.

They're giving up a #1 defenseman who's only 25 years old for a decent one and a late first.

The only way this backfires for the Rangers is if they somehow fail to sign him for more than a year and he walks.

It's not great, that's why I said they were losing that trade regardless... but Trouba has been somewhat of a headache for the Jets, Pionk is not a horrible D and still young, 20th overall is nice, a little less so after I realized it was their own but still, Trouba was a goner and they couldn't afford to take much salary back

Still surprised they got so little.... especially if they let other teams talk with him for a contract.... Not sure they did.
