You can see Mayfield being moved sooner or later. - ses111
Why in God’s name would we move mayfield? He played great and is on a great contract. |

This gets said every single offseason and every single offseason it's a bad take. What are they supposed to do? Let all these guys walk away and have Leo Komarov play RW with Barzal? Go to UFA having nobody signed, watch them walk for higher offers and then pay someone like Zuccarello $5.5M year?
Wait until we see what Hayes signs for, that's going to be hilarious. - eichiefs9
You really have to play the game. In the perfect world, I would love 29 year old UFA's that are not elite to only get 3 year deals but that's not happening. I will be very disappointed if Lou does not upgrade the top 6 but the offseason just started and you have to give it time. |

Eberle on Lee: "Anders is on his own path. No one can really blame him for taking his time or going to free agency. He’s earned the right to that. I know in his mind he loves Long Island." #Isles - Upstate_isles
Oh boy, see ya Anders. Schwein is gonna be distraught. Unless he goes to the Oilers... |

Because of Dobson and if he is needed to be included in a package for a top 6 forward. I'm not looking to move Mayfield but Mayfield may need to be moved eventually. |

Familiar to what? JT leaving? As much as I'd be disappointed if Lee left, I wouldn't be mad about it. |

I can't imagine Mayfield being moved, at least not in this offseason. Can't dismantle the entire part of the team that got us to the playoffs last year. But what do I know... |

Still makes zero sense.. guy makes $1.5 mill and gets better every year. Moving him saves you zero and costs you a decent D-man. Moving Hickey I get.. or even Pelech, but Mayfield? No shot. Mayfield is the kind of player & Contract you need on your team. |

Have to think Pulock, Pellech and maybe Toews are untouchable with everyone else in play if it makes the team better.
That said I don’t see them trading away 2 of the top 6 dman.
But like you wtf do I know

Pulock and Toews are untouchable. Pellech is not in the same ball park IMO. |

Meh him and Pulock developed nicely into a top pair. Don’t think you want to separate that unless you can’t say no to what’s coming here. |

I would be pretty concerned. Way too many long term contracts handed out to guys in their late 20's or early 30's. Once Lehner and Lee are inked, what will you do to extend Barzel on his next pay day? He is quickly on the road to being considered "elite" and assuming Lehner and Lee are both in the 6.5M AAV realm, leaving 11M cap space going forward with few expiring contracts.
I mean your top 3 paid forwards are Nelson, Ebs and Ladders contracts which expire at the ages 33, 34, 37....And your highest paid D has another 3 years, being 38 years old when that expires. It is a lot of Cap commitment to guys that I would not consider stars in this league. - bikeguy99
How many?
Boychuks $6m for 3yrs
Ladds $5.5m for 4yrs
Clutterbucks $3.5m for 3yrs
Komorov $3m for 3yrs
Thats it, Bailey & Leddy can be easily moved if cap space is needed, plus those players contracts are reasonable buyouts if needed when time comes.
After this upcoming season, those contracts look even better |

Mayfield will have more value to other teams. It's not about not liking Mayfield and wanting him out. Let's hope Lou hits on Panarin otherwise he might have to go the trade route. |
