I want Lee signed but this one will be tough. I wonder if Lou will need to package someone like Wahlstrom if he misses on Panarin?
- ses111

I think Lee gets done imho Lehner as well. What Lou needs to trade to upgrade a top 6 player depends on who the player is.

I can't fathom a scenario in which the Devils would trade Hall in their division, but in general I'd look to about what Duchene fetched when he went from COL to OTT. A 1st, a 2nd or 3rd, maybe a roster player and a B+ level prospect.
- eichiefs9

Lou still has a few people in the Devils organization that likes him I am guessing.

Bailey, Leddy and a first?

no one on the 2 cup finalist teams make over 7.5 mill. I get why Buffalo gave Skinner that much $. They have had so much negative press lately they needed to keep the guy who just scored 40 goals. You needed to lock him up long term. I think they overpaid but felt like they had to do it. I can't see another team giving Skinner that much on open market but wtf do I know.

True but the last two teams who combined to win the last 3 cups before this year did.

Again, prefacing this by saying I think there's a zero percent chance the Devils move him in-division...but no, I'd guess something more along the lines of:

2020 1st, Beauvillier and one of Iskhakov/Koivula/Aho/MVS

And still cap space to sign on more unlike Toronto!

please remind us all of the overpayment Dubass made on the last 6 years of the jt deal??? please remind us

JT took the least amount of $ in Toronto. Great signing. He's afranchise centre. Nelson and Eberle are just supporting guys who area a dime a dozen.

Said he will not sign.. so I imagine they will move him.
- niteislander

He’s probs waiting to see who they add in FA and or trade on top of Hughes before he commits to the team. If they add and they play well he may sign but if they don’t really improve I think he will look to sign with a team closer to winning

This eberle deal is great, replacing him really was a lateral move because who was scoring that much more that replacing him made sense? Adding to him is the correct move in my opinion and will give us more offense without losing one of our top guys at the same time

Makes moving Bailey more feasible over the next year or two as well, if they need to. It would've been tough to move Bailey if they didn't have another top-6 waiting in the wings to replace his production.

Maybe trade Bales for Kadri since Bailey is JT's BFF

Nice try troll.. He took the most money by getting 70 mill in a signing bonus which is taxed in Canada at a much lower rate than income. go enjoy the Raptor's parade b/c it's the only one you will ever have in Toronto.

NBA... lol

Great signing I am happy with it. Still feel a big trade will go down one way or another. Lou is going to do something

Yes I said no way they can move bailey unless his scoring is offset and eberle does that and allows them to bring in another guy. Now I could see bailey being moved but I still dont think its this year but what do I know. I think they look to move beau and leddy for a top 6 player via trade if f.a. doesn't work

Staple seems to think they could move Mayfield in a lesser deal, too. Would open up a spot for Dobson.

I saw that, I like Mayfield but if Dobson can make this team see ya. Also lou said that hes done all he can at the jr level and it's up to Dobson as to whether he makes the team this year, that's refreshing
