I really like this deal, idt they could afford to lose eberles high end skill with the lack of offense they already had. He is great with barzal and now if they can land a panarin or even Hoffman or someone similar they will be much better off. Idk about Lee I hope he stays. Also there was talk on NHL radio today of the isles taking Spencer knight with their first pick as hes one of the best athletes in the draft and apparently a legit keeper

Lee really might be gone. Maybe Lehner, but (if it's one of the two) more likely Lee

Don't draft goalies in the first round unless they are absolute can't-miss, guaranteed star players. I'll die on that hill.

Good deal for the Isles, and the right move bringing him back. Those back couple of years on the deal might not even be too bad...time will tell, but Eberle doesn't seem like a player that's going to fall apart in his early 30s because of a decade+ of playing a punishing style of hockey.

Yeah he's pretty durable and his style of play isn't going to break him down quickly. I'd say they'll definitely "regret" the last year of his deal and maybe the last two, but I'm more than happy with this.

If Lehner leaves, I'm not to concerned only bc Korn has done a masterful job w/G's and wouldnt mind a replacement. Plus Lehner's only sucessful season has been with isles (I believe)

Bellows is not off to a good start, BD isn't wrong about that. He had a bad year in BPT. That said, the Eberle signing has absolutely nothing to do with that given the fact that they play two different positions.

Bellows was never a high-end prospect, so this shouldn't really be a huge deal for anyone. He's going to need time, maybe this year + another in BPT before he's potentially ready to be an NHL player.

Not sure I agree with that but the rest of your statement I agree.

Another great signing by Lou. Fair for the Islanders and fair for the player.
