Preferred outcome:
Blues win the Stanley Cup and Marchand is injured in such a way that he can never play again but doesn't affect his quality of life.

Acceptable outcomes:
Blues win the Stanley Cup, Marchand is unharmed
Bruins win the Stanley Cup, Marchand never plays again

Unacceptable outcome:
Bruins win the Stanley Cup, Marchand is unharmed

Nightmare Fuel scenario:
Bruins win the Stanley Cup, Marchand wins Conn Smythe

DREAM scenario.....

I've had multiple interactions with that guy, as he lives here in Halifax in the offseason.....believe it or not, he's a bigger POS off the ice than he is on it.

I was going to a store with my son a few years ago (he was 4 at the time)...and Marchand was sitting in the parking lot in his black lambo playing on his phone with the window down. my kid had no idea who he was, he just thought his car was amazing. when my son walked by he stopped and told him he had a nice car, he looked at me, looked at my kid, said nothing and just rolled his window up.

the guy has zero class in just about every situation......seeing him cry like a little female dog was just the sweetest thing

If you count playoffs, he's over 1200. Some of the quotes from his dad last night were pretty good.

I think Guru was predicting that the Blues were going to win the Cup with an early round post. He hasn’t posted anything since... Guru, where are you?

On no. The crying Marchand is already trending in GIF and meme form.

No worries, Jay! Thank you for working your A$$ off on these stories. I really love this community. You guys are great!

Special shout out to Carcus. If we happened to be in the same place watching the game, I’d’ve given you a giant hug and apologized for all the back and forth over the years.

I’ve watched Guru overcome his troubles on this board, seen Andy parlay this and everything else that he did into a dream job, and bcal be the constant through it all.

Thanks for being a part of my hockey community and for letting me be a part of yours.

Didn't even start trying until about 4am and the dog wasn't having it. I think I might have nodded off for 45 minutes or so. I'm guessing a bunch of us will crash and burn around 3:30pm and love every minute of it.

I'm sure there's going to be a lot of interesting numbers and side stories to all this, a rookie goaltender setting wins record that can't be surpassed (unless the playoff format is changed), the Blues tying a record for number of games played in a single post season, two shy of the max, ROR scoring scoring goals in four straight - first since Gretz, etc.

I think so far my favorite tidbit is in the SCF - games in which the fourth line was intact (not dealing with a suspension) the Blues were 4-1, including the last four in a row. 0-2 in suspension games.

They did such a great job of shutting down the other teams' best players the entire way.

Sens or Leafs fan, we can agree on that.

I actually am a LITTLE bit of a Bruins fan. Have been since the Bam Bam Cam days. I love that guy.

He, and the Bruins of my youth, played hard nosed hockey, but clean. For the most part, I think the same of most the Bruins these days.

But there are a couple of Bruins that are a total embarassment (and that has been creeping in moreso in the last couple of years), and Marchand is the leader of that pack.

With guys like Carcillo, Cooke, and Burrows on their way out of the league, Marchand has made his way to the top of the list as the biggest POSs in the NHL.

I've always said Alex Pietrangelo had Norris caliber hockey in him (and got mocked for it). I'm not sure he'll win one any time soon, but it's nice to see him get some recognition. I would take him over a dman that scores a pile of points any day.

He's a champ.
