Coyotes are finalizing new ownership. Main takeaways I read are: he's a billionaire and he wants to keep the team in Arizona. I would imagine he already has plans to move the team to the Tempe/Scottsdale area down the road. This now opens the door for them to throw money at Duchene which I think would put Schmaltz back at wing

I don't see Kessel in that plan? Keep Schmaltz at center and consider Dvorak and Crouse Penguins. |

Not saying it can't happen, but I'd be pretty surprised if Duchene chose them. Seems like Nashville or Columbus are closer to winning big. |

Yeah, like I said yesterday I feel that he’s going to Nashville and Nashville is going to start moving out some other forwards. I’d love to see Duchene in AZ but I’ll be happy with any solid top 6 forward and let the other guys see how they do. I just don’t want to see another small forward like Phil or Tyler Johnson
I think Granlund or Turris is destined to be moved to Buffalo or Dallas and since Big D is a rival my guess is they’d sooner deal with Buffalo who’s looking for two second liners. Is there a chance Botts buys low on both Granlund and Turris? I would think so |

I don’t think Chayka wants Kessel. He’s an analytics guy. Idk why he would go for Phil when he can go after Zucker, JT Miller, Kadri, or even a free agent which costs them no assets. AZ is a grinding team. I don’t see Phil meshing with these guys
I enjoyed watching Dvorak. Once he got comfortable he reminded me of a better version of Bjugstad. Dvorak + Crouse wouldn’t do if for me as a Pens fan. I like them both but it certainly doesn’t make us better |

Turris seems like a smart bounce back pick. Team shot low while he was in the ice. Clear dip in production post injury amidst rumors he wasn't healthy. |

Some teams could see it as an issue that they would likely be looking to get futures and cap space in return but Buffalo wouldn’t need to send a player back which makes it a good fit. I can’t imagine the price would be all that high either. Probably starts with the St.Louis first rounder and they add something from there. Could potentially be a bit of a bidding war for guys like Turris and Kessel later in July/August |

Grain of salt, but TIOPS is reporting the Pens have emerged as a serious suitor for Trouba.
WPG's reported ask: Two impact NHL players and a high pick.
Issues:
-Pens can't outbid other suitors if WPG decides to do a prospect-heavy deal.
-Trouba's long-term goal is to sign with the Rangers, so the Pens would gamble on only getting one year out of Trouba. |

Maybe he'd accept to extend his deal with us? Trouba would be an ideal #2/3 for us. |

Sounds like a lot of players want to play for the Rangers. Fortunately they can’t afford all of them, so while Trouba may want to play there he may not have the opportunity. |

Rumor is they want to move Shattenkirk which would make room, but you’re right. It appears that will be a problem for another time |

It seems they always say everyone wants to sign with the Rangers. Yet they really don't have an all-star line up. They have also stated how Duchene wouldn't leave Ottawa or CBJ, but now the front runner is Nashville. I think if Trouba did come to Pittsburgh, JR would probably ask to negotiate on a long term deal before he pulled the trigger on a deal. Maybe a deal with a package of Schultz going the other way would do it for WPG. |
