Bergeron and Marchand have not been good enough. Kudos for his toughness and determination playing with the busted jaw....But Chara had a pretty terrible game last night. seemed like every time he had the puck on his stick it was a turnover or end of possession. Still, the Zebra was staring directly at the Bozak play and no call....simply awful on the GWG in a Pivotal Game 5 of the Stanley Cup Final. Instances like that were a no-call leads directly to a goal in the same zone possession sequence, why not have a challenge available? Refs review the play, determine it was a missed call, and either put the Blues in the box, or simply take the goal away and neutral zone faceoff. IDK, just really terrible that the game is decided on such a blatant missed call...should've been an OT game.
Let's just hope for clean wins.
I don't want either team winning it based on a controversial goal or play.
Blues fans must be ecstatic to have the cup in their building on Sunday.
Bruins in 7.
Been saying a version of this for years. My version of the latter is that teams have to win regardless of officiating. It's like MMA and boxing with the concept of not leaving it in the judges hands.
Sometimes that's easier. Sometimes it's harder but you have to try to play in a way where officiating has less control over the outcome because your play is deciding it more.
I still can't believe the level to which officiating has deteriorated this post-season. - Jason Millen
Well said! I really hope the league addresses it. For the playoffs I prefer they put the whistles away. The inconsistencies are an embarrassment.
Quit crying. Should have been offsetting minors for tripping and embellishment. Bruins have been the benefactors of MANY calls in their favour
Blues won because they’re better. Not because of the refs
I will say, it’s pretty sweet listening to Bruins fans whine about the refs after weeks of them telling everyone else to stop whining about the refs.... - AxlRose91
Axl Rose is a fat joke who can't remember his lyrics and looks like Ma Fratelli. Get (frank)ed you hoser.
Sure. We all see different things.
I didn't see a dive from 55. What I did see, is what I think Kelly saw.
25 riding Bozie into 55, thus causing the "trip/slewfoot).
That's not what actually happened, but that's what I first saw. - shoreorrpark
As soon as I read this, I thought yep, that it explains it.

There really can't be any other explanation.
Sutherland is a top drawer official.
Kozie on the other hand, can (frank) off as soon as Wes is ready to come back.
Barbashev will miss game 6.
The 2 headshots were the only real alarming misses last night.
Again, when it comes to sight lines, players make great doors, but terrible windows.

Sutherland's positioning around the net is routinely TERRIBLE...he is in the way more than any other official (well any other of the better officials).

Technically it was going to be there either based on Monday's result.
Your first sentiment is desired but I have zero confidence in the NHL making it a reality.

I disagree.
He's almost always where he should be.
He missed the trip because of sightlines.
He missed the dive, because there wasn't one.
55 looked like he stepped on a banana peel.
He didn't see that coming, so how could he dive?
Let's hope for a clean game 6 and 7.

Ready for the tinfoil hat?
It's almost like the NHL wants to blow calls so they can implement the eye in the sky official without resistance from the masses.
"This is terrible, something must be done"
"I know, let's have some guy in a suit play Hockey God from his chair, in Toronto".
What could possibly go wrong?
I like it the way it is to be completely honest.

I wasn't talking about his positioning on the non-call.
I'm was talking about his positioning when the D have possession low in the zone as he often blocks the pass/passing lane behind the net because he doesn't vacate that space quickly enough, delaying to move around the end boards. It's the only positioning issue I have noticed with him but its been pretty consistent in the playoffs, almost like his method or strategy on how to move in game causes him to be in that bad spot.
It happened early in the game last night where Petro even went and chatted with him about it. It happened on a crucial play where he directly caused the goal letting Dallas tie Game 6 at 1-1.
The amount of people saying embellishment because he kicked his feet in the air is (frank)ing retarded. When you get your legs kicked out from behind, you kick your feet up as you fall back. Its the natural physical reaction to whats happening.
Go google a video of Marchand slew footing someone(theres plenty), youll see every single person he does it to kick their feet way up in the air.
Some of you are (frank)ing dumb as poop.
Also, calling embellishment on something thats an actual penalty is extremely stupid. Use it on people who try to sell calls when nothing happened, like Tarasenko earlier in the series acting like he got hit in the head with a shoulder when no one touched him. Before a Blues fan or loser from Toronto says something, I am not picking on him, everyone does it, its just the first one that came to mind.

I know what you're referring to.
He's entitled to that ice.
Normally we play around the officials.
Or, from Kelly's viewpoint, it looked like Carlo was riding Bozie into Noel.
Ticky tacky, I know, but how else could it have been missed unless he chose not to call it?
Sutherland is probably the 2nd best ref in the game.
I give him the benefit of the doubt. - shoreorrpark
I hear what you're saying. I guess we won't ever know unless the official gives his reasoning which I haven't heard yet. Anyways hopefully Boston forces a game 7 so we get to watch more hockey.

traps go in next saturday! Not as fun as diving for them, but way easier. Stripers are moving up from the cape, the bait fish are everywhere. Looking to be a good season.
The embellishment talk is a bunch of garbage. When all your weights on one foot and it gets kicked out from behind, you're going ass over tea kettle.
That said, refs arent the reason the Bruins lost imo. Getting nothing from the top two lines is the reason.
