The intention wasn't to create a cup winning squad over night.

Smith is just to provide a bit more leadership in the top 6. I hear Smith is the top 6 mentor that Beagle is to the bottom 6. Although Smith is barely a top 6 player if at all anymore but he would be on this team

As for the defence, similar to the forwards. Just minor change that allows another year or two for the drafted and developing players.

Limited to no cost for almost all of the acquired players.
