Pretty much my take also. Newhook flies under the radar in the BCHL but has all the tools & already plays 2-way hockey.

Given that Newhook committed to the NCAA while in grade 10 says a lot about him & the NCAA seeing his talent.

Give him more talent to play with & against older players he will shine & be well worth picking.

Best case scenario is that Turcotte is still available at 10 but I think at this point most people have him top 5. If Zegras, Dach or Cozens are there at 10, I think that should be viewed as a major win.

Worst case would be trading up a few spots IMO but as far as picking a player in that range Soderstrom, York or Harley would be disappointing.

There are probably teams ahead of Vancouver who have different priorities. Is there a chance that someone who by all accounts shouldn't be there but is? Also, 10 is pretty far down the list, and the second/third tiers are gone, is there a scenario you could see where Benning reaches for someone who should really be going much later but because of his (misguided) sense of what the team needs he drafts another Virtanen.
