I'd trade Juolevi+ for him if that would get it done, throw in someone like Gadjovich or Brisebois if needed.

I'd prefer doing that instead of trading Virtanen + a high 2nd or trading young roster players like Demko and Gaudette.

Like Chompsey said, it's hard to say since Fenton seems to be a wildcard in how he values certain players. He definitely seems to value some players very differently than most fans do.

If Benning could pull of reasonable trades fo guys like Zucker and Colin Miller, that would be a lot nicer than overpaying guys like Myers in free agency.

No thanks. I’m all in on the slow boat. If they trade Oj (which I don’t think they will) I’d be annoyed.

All depends on how you feel about OJ, I think some teams will still view him as a high upside dman since he has solid numbers, but when I watch him play, I just don't like how soft he is in his own end, smaller dudes like Biega, Stecher and Hughes show more willingness to get their noses dirty and he's just too passive for my liking.

I feel like his value will actually go down as he plays more and his perceived upside falls lower.

Just my opinion of course.

Zucker is 27 and signed on a reasonable deal for 4 more years so it's not like he's a stopgap or declining vet.

I just don’t think you need Zucker until 4 years from now, so I’d rather wait. And, JB seemed pretty stoked to hopefully have OJ healthy for training camp, somI don’t believe he would move him, And And, the organizational depth is so terrible at every position that giving up OJ plus anything is unreasonable. The only guys I would be willing to trade are guys who have no market around the league. So just work with what you have and slowly turn it over as contracts expire.

Zucker is in his prime and a perfect fit imo. Depth trade worth doing on a very reasonable contract. To me its a no brainer if it doesn't cost you much.

“Thatcher Demko is a part of that (untouchable) group and Olli Juolevi has had injury problems, but has the ability to be a very good player for a long time,” added Benning. “If I have to package guys I will, but I think Jake (Virtanen) is an important player for us. You have to be patient with this type of player and the power forward game he plays.

Benning was Giddy today when talking about Tryamkin coming back. He will finish his KHL contract then the process will begin.

Boeser contract talks are not far apart . He basically called out Daliwahl .

He is still very excited about OJ . He is seeing a doctor this week to get cleared for skating.

Edler negotiations on going . Still really want him

Very happy with combine results . They pretty well have their list in place.
"We will get a very good exciting part of the fututre"

It is my job to at least phone and inquire about all trade possibilities.

Very busy on phones

"Going to call Eriksson this week to find out about what he said . Travis and I are concerned"

Benning busy working the media. 'We're checking in on Zaitsev, Tryamkin's coming back, OJ will be great.....'

Looks like he's trying to get the Edler situation resolved well before the 23rd.

So trade OJ for Zucker and draft Broberg to replace OJ as a prospect?

I would not like to see Jake leave. He will break out soon enough. He is working hard now and doing the right things to be a pro in the league.
- thundachunk

Jb isn't trading Jake, he said he is what you need in the playoffs and he's trending upwards.

I don’t think paying for a guy to “put you over the top” when it won’t actually put you over the top is a prudent move. I don’t believe this team can compete for at least another two or three years - when Pete and Brock etc start hitting their prime.

I want to add a “perfect” player to my roster but I’m only willing to give up Goldobin...

Judging from that quote Vantel posted above, he seems to want to keep Jake but is willing to package him for a core player who fits the team long-term.

That's exactly how I would value Jake as well so that's good to hear.

It was the four year thing that made me say wow.

Canucks have the cap space, the room on their roster, prospects , a new young group , and talent.

I think now is the time to start making moves . I don't mean trading off their future but they can now change the D . Why not make some big moves like acquiring a Miller and moving a Tanev ?

You have cap room why not bring in two top 6 forwards?

Canucks can make two trades and sign a UFA .

Makes for an interesting summer. As much flack as Benning has received, I think he's learning what it takes to be a GM. I like what he has done lately and like the direction the team is headed.

My guess seeing they are talking to Zegras and Newhook and they have Madden the offer will be Gaudette Leivo and Hutton or Stecher

Bruins used 12 D this year none played more than 72 games.
