Zucker was the main piece in a deal for Phil Kessel ....he isn’t a sweetener to move a couple spots in the draft ...maybe Zucker for gaudette and a 2nd might work - Redmile247
True, he wouldnt be a sweetener, but there is no way in hell JB moves Gaudette nor a 2nd....not saying Zucker isn't worth it, its just not going to happen..... |

From the CanuckWay
"Not sure if Minnesota would be interested in packaging Zucker and the No. 12 pick for Vancouver’s 10th selection, since Fenton would only be moving up two spots. Maybe additional picks could be involved to make a trade happen."

What if JB can make a trade to acquire another 2nd ....would you do the trade then ? |

Not if it meant trading Gaudette.
More likely its Virtanen and a 3rd but man, that'd piss me off. I think the best is yet to come from Virtanen.... |

You're right.
That trade would be hilariously bad for Minny.
"Let's trade a 27 year old dude who averages 25 goals per 82 games only making 5.5M for the next few years to move up 2 spots in the draft and get an extra 2nd + 4th round pick!"
Most likely a couple of players from the Demko/Gaudette/Juolevi/Madden/Virtanen group would be involved if Benning doesn't want to trade picks. |

Benning was Giddy today when talking about Tryamkin coming back. He will finish his KHL contract then the process will begin.
Boeser contract talks are not far apart . He basically called out Daliwahl .
He is still very excited about OJ . He is seeing a doctor this week to get cleared for skating.
Edler negotiations on going . Still really want him
Very happy with combine results . They pretty well have their list in place.
"We will get a very good exciting part of the fututre"
It is my job to at least phone and inquire about all trade possibilities.
Very busy on phones
"Going to call Eriksson this week to find out about what he said . Travis and I are concerned" |

I feel like you're really underrating Zucker's trade value or overrating Jake's "potential".
Zucker averages 25 goals per 82 games if you take his totals from his last 5 seasons. He's only 27, is a great skater and makes a very reasonable 5.5M over the next 4 years, a beautiful contract in a hard cap league, especially since the cap just keeps continuing to rise.
If we had Zucker, you'd probably scoff at the idea of trading him for a Virtanen type player + 3rd round pick |

He had 64 points followed by 42 points. The direction is down, making in a down year from the year before. - neem55
Sorry, to me the term "down year" seemed to imply he was below average. He was perfectly average this year by his standards |

Yes, if you value a speedy physical 3rd line 15 goal scorer more than a top 6 speedy 22-25 goal scorer
I would like to keep Jake as a long term 3rd liner here, but if you can bend over Fenton by trading him + a 3rd for Zucker, I'd do that in a heartbeat. |

I imagine there will be one or two trades that happen that will piss off a good portion of the fan base . That said the fan base always think they know what is better for the team.
Me personally I trust this group of managers
I don't trust ownership. In fact on SN650 one of the announcers repeated about 3 or 4 times less than an hour ago that there is pressure to make the playoffs this year on the 50 th anniversary. He said he has a source tell him that there is a lot of pressure from ownership.

If there’s pressure for the playoffs, then I don’t blame JB for being aggressive and it’s nice to hear that he’s trying to (hopefully) buy low on Zucker instead of overpaying for a tier 2 UFA. Just wish we were hearing Colin Miller rumours instead of Zaitsev
We’ll see though. |

Zucker has reached his ceiling...won't be any better than what he is now. I dont think Jake puts up 60pts but I think he has 25g 40pts in him.
Perhaps the 3rd isn't enough but I, personally, think JV gives you what Zucker gave Minny last year....
