Every time I read one of your posts I know how he felt when he saw litter.

Jason Pominville was 25 years old in his second NHL season. Sam Reinhart was 21.

The Sabres were also, you know, good, during Pominville's 2nd season. They scored over 300 goals and won the President's trophy.

Curious... do you share this same opinion on Marner wanting 11M? Matthews getting 11.5M? McDavid getting 13.5M?

I know points wise those guys are far above Laine but curious if you say this about all younger players or just some?

I think a cap is needed on ELCs (already is), a cap on RFA/2nd contrcats, and then a max cap contract, and then a max a player can be paid in their 35+ span.

There is a max cap contract also

I don’t think there’s a need for 35+ contracts
Teams are already fairly stingy with those

The RFA/2nd contract Cap is an interesting idea
But wouldn’t that result in A LOT of the best players just taking shorter deals to get to Free Agency?

That might end up being a good thing,
and we’d actually get some player movement
Or maybe it results in “super teams” like the NBA where all the best players just make their plans to go play together
