Thats a lie. Hall would never, nor would really any player say they are not interested in signing. They keep that stuff quiet.

It doesn't make sense for Hall to make that kind of statement. He has to know that he is going to get traded if he truly doesn't want to be here.

If Hall doesn't sign an extension with the Devils and Roman Josi also doesn't sign an extension with the Preds, would you trade Hall for Josi straight up?

I don't think it's going to come down to this for either team, but I'm curious to see if this is a good hockey trade.

I'm hoping Hall stays.

From an outside perspective, I'd say that's a deal that makes sense in many ways for both teams.

IF IF IF this Hall for Kakko/Andersson is legit.. would it really be the worst thing in the world? eh.

Not sure how good Andersson is supposed to be (anyone know?).. but with Kakko we'd get a top line RW to add to the 24 and under core of 1a/1b centers Hughes and Hischier, hopefully top 3 D Smith, 3rd line C Zacha, 3rd line LW Wood, 2nd line Boqvist and Bratt??, top 4 D Butcher and Severson, bottom pair Santini, and starting G Blackwood, etc.

I'd rather him stay, being a member of the 27-29 y/o club, with Palmieri, Coleman, Vatanen. If we could stretch that group for the next 4 years, and allow the younger group to develop, with the right add/drops, we could be a contender. Nothing wrong with a team consisting of 21-24y/o stars and 30-33y/o vets.

IF we traded Hall for Kakko/Andersson, and used the cash to sign Panarin.. are we better with Panarin, Kakko, Hughes, Andersson compared to Hall, Hughes and lets say.. Nyqvist???

Elliote Friedman tweeted it, whoever that is. I think I'd do it.. right? maybe?

Without any other moves, this would leave us with..

Bratt-Hischier-Kakko
Zacha-Hughes-Palmieri
Wood-Zajac-Coleman
Boqvist/Q/-Rooney/McLeod-Anderson/Bastian

would be quite a strange lineup without other moves made. I can't picture Hughes and Kakko on the same line as both of them being rookies.

I don't see it on his Twitter.

But yeah, if there's even a doubt that Hall won't resign, I make that trade for Kakko.

Let the rags sign Ebs to go with Hall.

I would support this deal very much

I very much doubt that the Rangers would make that trade. Kakko and his 7 years of team controlled, relatively inexpensive contracts are WAY more appealing to a team that are rebuilding than signing a +10MM 7 or 8 year contract with a player in his late 20s.

It's one thing if they were trying to win now (even then I don't think they do it).

I would do that trade even if Hall wanted to re-sign here. Like somebody else just said, your getting a player you can control for 7 years at a reasonable price. There is no way Rangers ever do that trade even if they wanted to contend next year.

You know Shero and hall have already been talking. I wonder if a deal isnt already in place, if Shero will pull the trigger at the draft? Or if hall simply said he has no intention.

True. But look how careful he worded it. Whatever Hall does he can stand behind his statement. And he got a bunch of clicks today. Guy is a tool, fake news, but he got paid for clicks.

He's the same as eklund, he doesn't have real sources. He doesn't break any news and just updates his website quickly to make it look like he's in the know to people who don't get it.

His tweet is carefully worded because he has no insider info so he has to obscure the meaning so people read into it and create meaning that isn't there.

Obviously Hall doesn't want to sign a contract extension yet, because even if he wanted to he couldn't until July 1st anyway. So he's just using the fact that there is no extension to tell you that he isn't extended yet and everybody reads into it. The guy is a clickbait piece of poop who adds no value to sports writing.

Hall would be silly to have an agreement in place before Shero actually proves the rebuild is done. I do think he'll resign, but I wouldn't be surprised if it's later in the year if not right before next year's free agency.
