Kevin Hayes would be an interesting UFA target. He's only 27 and has consistently put up 45-50 points. I wonder if he would be a good fit with Petey and Brock? Also, I would imagine he'd be looking north of 6milX6, that's probably too pricey moving forward for us? But hopefully with Sutter, Sven, Loui contracts disappearing in the next couple years it could work. |

Why the (frank) would Marleau accept a trade to anywhere but San Jose or a legit contender?
Can we put that one to bed already? - golfingsince
Maybe he values going back to California. LA makes sense. If Toronto eats a small portion (1 mill), LA can add an extra asset in the process.
Also, come next trade deadline (if Marleau still wants to chase a cup), he can be moved to a contender (assuming he agrees) and LA can eat half of the remaining money all while adding another small asset.
Leafs get cap space.
Marleau gets to move back to California.
Marleau can still chase a cup in the last few months of the season.
Everybody wins. |

Sam Cosentino of Sportsnet IDed Seider as the most gregarious player he spoke to. "Not only was he candid, and funny, but to the point. When asked why a team should take him he responded by saying, 'If you want a big right shot defenceman who can skate well, I’m your guy.'"
This plus the fitness testing makes me like Seider even more. Once again, I just think we pick too early to take him, hope for a trade down and acquire an extra 2nd. |

Not directed at you but why is it we always need someone for Petey and Brock? We should be focusing on getting someone for Horvat!! He had an amazing season with a revolving door of line mates and mostly scrubs. I'd love to see what he can do with legit and consistent line mates. |

I agree, we need 2 solid pairs of forwards, then you can search for good fitting 3rd wheels after. |

pick a position on any line, both forward and D, and we probably need to address a spot of need. Our bottom 6 had the worst goal differential at 5v5 in the league last year. We need help all over. |

We all know our D need to be fixed, so that's why I didn't mention them. I'd rather they fix the top 6 first before the bottom 6. Having two scoring lines would be more entertaining than just Petey, Brock and Horvat. |

My point was, whether it's a winger for petey and brock, a winger for bo and Pearson, or addressing the bottom 6 which wasnt good at all, there shouldnt be one priority over the other. Whole team needs to be fixed. |

We need to stop going for low lying fruit and go for the best up high in the tree. We should be reaching for the Panarins etc. Fill out all positions as needed but go for the best and if not don’t waste any more money on bandaids. |

I dont trust our pro scouts worth sh*t.
Last time we went for the "high fruit" in free agency, we landed LE x 6 years. |

Guess I’m missing the jab, I like Boeser, he is just a poor back checker.
BTW, why are you always trying to pick on me, I might be a sensitive type guy - Makita

Yeah you're right about Bo, I believe JB said he liked what he saw from Pearson so in that case he'd need to find a RW and the choices are slim. When I mentioned Hayes bcus he shoots Left - I gravitated to EP, BB.
It's probably why a lot of posters think if we could get Kapanen to play RW with BO it would be ideal. |

ummm Loui Eriksson, Ryan Miller and Radim Vrbata all day high
Just because Gillis and Nonis failed to sign high end UFA’s, doesn’t mean Benning will fail in free agency like they did
